GDS is more like 30 percent to the Ivys, with a number admitted to top Ivys.

30% of the GDS class is not going to Ivys. Why are you so obsessed with Ivys? Like all schools, there are kids at the top of the class who didn't even apply to Ivys so using that as a gauge is irrelevant.

If you people are going to type "Ivys" rather than "Ivies," you are playing in the wrong sandbox and forfeit all right to snipe with each other.

You might want to take that up with the NY Times copy editor, among others. https://www.nytimes.com/2019/03/22/business/college-investor-who-beats-the-ivys.html

NY Times is inconsistent, now that media is laying off copy editors right and left:

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/02/12/us/SAT-bonus-ivy-league.html

But the New Yorker beats NY Times on style every time and correctly uses "Ivies."

Not that the NY Times is consistent.

sure, but the point really is that nobody is right or wrong. You can find it both ways online and I know Ivy League grads who do it differently.

How many out of those Ivy- bound 40 students are legacies? I'd say quite a few.

Good placement to Maryland, Catholic and Elon.

That’s it?

Several UPenn
Harvard
Dartmouth
Johns Hopkins
GW
Georgetown
Several Wake Forest
Several Naval Academy
West Point
Cornell
Villanova
Univ of Southern California
Duke
Boston College
RPI
Wash U. in St. Louis
Holy Cross

Georgia Tech

Is that the all time list for Gonzaga, or just this year? Let’s be serious, Gonzaga’s not known for their academics.

It's definitely a multi-year list. Gonzaga college placement is nowhere near that good.

I thought that this was an eye-popping number, but then a couple of GDS parents I know didn’t seem surprised.

No, it is this year. Go to the Instagram account for Gonzaga seniors and you’ll see all of the kids and where they are headed. Most schools have these now - just search Instagram in particular for whatever school seniors.

I would choose UM over Duke.

Depends what your majoring in.
