You might want to take that up with the NY Times copy editor, among others. https://www.nytimes.com/2019/03/22/business/college-investor-who-beats-the-ivys.html |
burn. |
NY Times is inconsistent, now that media is laying off copy editors right and left: https://www.nytimes.com/2020/02/12/us/SAT-bonus-ivy-league.html But the New Yorker beats NY Times on style every time and correctly uses "Ivies." https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2014/09/01/poison-ivy https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2005/10/10/getting-in Not that the NY Times is consistent. |
40 GDS seniors are going to Ivy League institutions next year. |
sure, but the point really is that nobody is right or wrong. You can find it both ways online and I know Ivy League grads who do it differently. |
| How many out of those Ivy- bound 40 students are legacies? I'd say quite a few. |
Not. |
| You guys are so misinformed. Where do you get the information that 40 GDS seniors are going to Ivies?? |
Is that the all time list for Gonzaga, or just this year? Let’s be serious, Gonzaga’s not known for their academics. |

Seriously? Not funny. |
It's definitely a multi-year list. Gonzaga college placement is nowhere near that good. |
I thought that this was an eye-popping number, but then a couple of GDS parents I know didn’t seem surprised. |
No, it is this year. Go to the Instagram account for Gonzaga seniors and you’ll see all of the kids and where they are headed. Most schools have these now - just search Instagram in particular for whatever school seniors. |
Depends what your majoring in. |
