I don't have a kid at Gonzaga and have no idea who the athletes are. But I don't think it really matters, tbh. Those kids have a skill that got them into various schools, just as other kids getting admitted to those schools. And most schools around here have athletes whose skill in those sports also got them into schools.

Everyone here has such heavy bias. Different high schools to cater to different kids for different reasons. Same thing with colleges.

Except that Gonzaga is a well-known sports factory (like DeMatha and St. John's). So not a fair comparison to "most" schools in the area.

Can we get some links to the actual lists? Not the second hand info...

Let's see SFS, GDS, HA, Landon, GP, Gonzaga, NCS, STA

GDS is more like 30 percent to the Ivys, with a number admitted to top Ivys.

30% of the GDS class is not going to Ivys. Why are you so obsessed with Ivys? Like all schools, there are kids at the top of the class who didn't even apply to Ivys so using that as a gauge is irrelevant.

I am a Sidwell senior parent. I could probably provide the list of 75 out of the 128 kids right now. But what is the point? Kids choose schools based on a variety of factors and none of them have to do with the vanity of the name on the sticker or shirt.

I know for a fact that some schools were chosen over more "prestigious" names because of money/aid or opportunity to play sports. I really don't get this obsession with where kids go to college as being a reflection of the school itself.

And to the person above who suggested taking the athletes out of the list from the Gonzaga schools, why? Those kids busted their tails on the sports venue and in the classroom to move on and continue to be student athletes at places where they could both garner the attention of the coaches and succeed in the classroom. Really, give it all a rest and let the kids go on to schools that are fits for them.

Sure, which is PP’s point. Different schools cater to different kids. In that way, the only results you really need to care about are the results from the school that meets what you or your kid are looking for.

If you people are going to type "Ivys" rather than "Ivies," you are playing in the wrong sandbox and forfeit all right to snipe with each other.
