I’m surprised this has not come up yet, but several of the schools are posting college placement results on social media. My sophomore DC showed me some of the posts and, while I know this will generate a whole lot of ire here, I’ll admit I was impressed by GDS’ placements. The quantity, caliber, and range was notable. Burke and St. Andrew’s also had much stronger placement than I recall from prior years. The placement landscape is clearly changing.

This is going to be a VERY strong year for private school students in DC because so many full-pay students are getting in off college waitlists. (and most DC private school students will be full-pay in college).
I know a ton of kids who have upgraded their acceptances in the last few weeks. From Michigan to Duke. From UVA to Yale. (to name two). Strong students but nothing exceptional (no national prizes, etc). It's an incredibly banner year for full-pay students. |

"upgrade"?
I would choose UM over Duke. |
| I hope someone makes a spreadsheet. |
| The excitement of getting into a great school and heading off to college has fizzled big time for this class. Double ugg. Now it is all do I defer, do I matriculate.....there is some serious paralysis and confusion about how to proceed. |
Me too. |
| Me three! |
| The NCS placement seemed really good to me |
| Where are the social media posts for GDS, Burke, St. Andrews, etc.? Facebook? |
| Duke instead of Michigan? So sorry for the future Dukie. Maybe he or she got a big scholarship... |
GDS has been strong in college admissions for quite some time, but this has been a stellar year for GDS seniors. It’s amazing, considering that highly selective college admissions become more competitive each year. |
Sidwell has been more meh. |
| Sidwell rocked it this year. |
Based on what? Ton of the colleges prized on this forum, kids going to "smaller" schools are generally going for free or deep merit/scholarship aid. |
