Five people have tested positive for the virus in Virginia.

The patients are a U.S. Marine who is assigned to Fort Belvoir in Fairfax County and lives at Marine Corps Base Quantico in Prince William County, two Fairfax City residents, an Arlington resident, and a Spotsylvania County resident.

The Marine "recently returned from overseas, where he was on official business," the Pentagon said in a statement. He started showing symptoms on Feb. 14 and returned to the U.S. several days later.

One of the Fairfax City residents to test positive is a man in his 80s who went on a Nile River cruise and began to develop symptoms on Feb. 28, officials said. He was hospitalized March 5. His spouse later tested positive.

The Arlington patient is in their 60s and "developed fever, cough and shortness of breath after having returned from international travel," the state health department said.

Thirty-six patients previously tested in Virginia came back with negative results for COVID-19.

The Commonwealth was monitoring dozens of people for coronavirus-related health concerns.

The daycare is there and has children of parents whom work in the building in varying classrooms (some parents in quarantine and sick). Employees also use adult restroom provided to staff in the public building as well as other common areas. Employees at daycare are told to return to work promptly the next day as school reopened.

That was my first thought as well, but maybe it was a special Lent service or a family member was getting baptized or something?

I was thinking the DHA one is the Fredricksburg case. The email came out first thing this morning, 3-4 hours before Loudoun announced their case

There is also some question that the Arlington case from yesterday is also a DSCA employee. Not just the Marine. My team was notified Sunday night and they were under the impression that it’s actually 2 cases at DSCA space in Crystal City. Still haven’t been able to confirm one way or the other
