Biden's VP?

She's been a great campaigner and has a sharp tongue. She will do well in the debates and on the campaign trail. I've been impressed with her ability to parry attacks and effectively communicate in a simple manner her views.

Joe needs to harness the energy from the left. I think Liz Warren fills that niche. Further, I know SO MANY WOMEN who just desperately want to see a woman in the WH. VP ain't nothing to shrug at and, given Joe's health, we may very well see a VP ascend to the Oval Office next term.

I love this argument. Sanders is a year older and has recently had a heart attack. Sanders is out of shape and unfit and basically running on fumes physically. Biden is a former athlete who is still in good shape for his age. The same cannot be said of Sanders.

I love Joe, but he is old and not as mentally sharp as in previous years. He needs someone who is razor sharp to be the VP and get sh#t done. I can see Warren be masterful at this job. I agree with one of the previous posters who said it would be similar to the Bush-Cheney Presidency.

Warren does a lot to consolidate the woman electorate and the left'ish elements of the Democratic Party. Biden appeals to a lot of the centrist Democrats (70%+ of the party) and disaffected Never Trumpers and RINOs.

I don't think it's necessary to nominate a person-of-color VP in this election. Trump is hated that much by 55% of the electorate.

Kamala Harris.

Or maybe Pete, just so we can see him shred Pence in the VP debates!

Warren, Buttigieg or Klobuchar -- particularly the last two.

I couldn't disagree with this more. Hillary would have won if she had been able to engender turnout in swing state urban areas. Those voters are still there and the Dems will need someone to get them excited to vote.

I genuinely believe that if Clinton had picked a more exciting running mate, she would be president now. Elizabeth Warren. Kamala Harris. Julian Castro.

I really don't believe black voters are going to turn out in record, Obama-level numbers simply because an old white guy frontrunner picks a black lady (or man). None of the names being bandied about for VP have Obama's charisma or appeal. The only person who could replicated Obama's turnout is Michelle Obama. And, frankly, it's sort of condescending that we assume a person of color VP will drive people of color to the polls. They got to bring something special to the ticket, other than just ethic background or skin tone.

I also strongly believe that Trump is so repellent to people of color that he himself is a major motivator for those POC Americans to get to the polls and vote AGAINST him. "Vote Anyone Who Is Blue" is a legit phenomenon this cycle.

ITA!!! Her biggest mistake was picking boring AF Tim Kaine. Her running mate didn’t need to be a POC—it just needed to be someone remotely engaging.

Biden doesn’t need a POC or a woman. He needs youth, energy, bright ideas. He needs Pete Buttigieg.

A thought - Rep. Val Demings from Florida. Former police chief, very impressive on the intelligence and oversight committees and as an impeachment manager.

She would be awesome, or Staci Abrams. But I’d love to see Pete as VP.

No way. Had she picked any of those three people, she would have lost even more votes.

Clinton has only herself to blame for 2016. Granted, she lost some votes for being a woman. However, she lost more votes because: 1) she had an unappealing amount of political baggage from her past, and — most importantly; 2) she failed to connect with blue-collar voters in the Midwest, who felt abandoned by the Democratic Party. Trump deftly used that disillusionment to his advantage, and stoked it with the xenophobic and racist rhetoric that propelled him to victory. Clinton did nothing to keep those voters in the Democratic camp. Her platform included nothing substantial that spoke to these voters and their desire for job and/or economic security. Selecting a running mate who was a POC or a socialist would only have alienated those voters even more.

Pete would be the best VP ever!

And a debate with Pence would be priceless...

I speculate Biden will pick Amy over Pete.

I hope he doesn’t pick Staci Abrams.

I don’t card who Bernie picks. If he gets the nomination, it won’t matter. He’ll lose.

Bernie would pick his wife or stepDD.

There's a long pattern there.

I don’t think Biden will pick anyone else who ran during the primary. People tend to have very strong feelings about candidates other than their own, and if he picks one of the former candidates, that might alienate the supporters of another candidate viewed as that person’s primary rival/obstacle (e.g., Buttigieg vs Klobuchar). Better to pick someone completely outside the process who isn’t tainted by it.

Come. On. Trump didn't even do that. I don't like Bernie, I will vote for him if he's he nom and I'll eat my MacBook if he picks his wife or stepdaughter.
