This sounds like nonsense. Please link to evidence. |
Typical twisting and distortion by Trump and friends. Nothing like slandering victims to add insult to injury … Trump claimed woman who accused him of sexual assault in a luxury department store said 'rape was sexy' and 'indicated that she loved it' * In an October 2022 deposition, Donald Trump claimed that E. Jean Carroll said "rape was sexy." * Trump was misrepresenting comments Carroll made about why she doesn't like to use the word rape in a 2019 interview. https://www.businessinsider.com/trump-claimed-carroll-rape-sexy-unsealed-deposition-2023-1 |
It does for any woman who has been sexually assaulted, but not for the men who think that “rape” can only be defined as a large Black man who follows a woman home and violently violates her at gunpoint. That literally seems to be their working definition and anything else is a woman’s fault. But much GOP belief is predicated on fairy tales. |
Melania knew what he was when she married him for US citizenship for herself and her communist parents and sister as well as his money. I have no sympathy for these grifters. They should be stripped of US citizenship and shipped back to wherever they came from. |
Trial begins on Tues., April 25. Trump, apparently, doesn't plan to show up. If I were on the jury, irrespective of what jury instructions the judge gives. Not showing up is an automatic guilty.
|
The person who let the criminal off guilty on the one jury I’ve served on also felt that he knew better than the judge. Let’s hope that the jury members just listen to the evidence. There’s probably scads of proof that he’s guilty. |
Good thing you are not on the jury then. You probably think that a defendant that doesn't take the stand is also guilty. |
From E Jean Carroll? Surely you jest. From an incident that occurred in 1995 or 96 - she can't remember exactly when. Sure. There MUST have been cameras in the store. Surely they have video. |
Not in a criminal case but this is a civil trial and trump can be called to testify. Not showing up is not a good look |
This is not a criminal trial. |
CARROLL: I was not thrown on the ground and ravished. Which the word "rape" carries so many sexual connotations. This was not -- this was not sexual. It just hurt. It just -- COOPER: I think most people think of rape as a -- it is a violent assault. It is not -- CARROLL: I think most people think of rape as being sexy. COOPER: Let's take a short break -- CARROLL: They think of the fantasies. COOPER: We're going to take a quick break. If you can stick around we'll talk more on the other side. |
Again, one of the problems of people gorging on propaganda vs reading actual news outlets is that you don’t know anything. “Trump now faces the immediate prospect of a face-to-face courtroom battle with a woman he described as a “nut job” who “enjoyed” being sexually assaulted. Carroll had filed separate defamation and assault lawsuits against him based on the claim that he raped her in her dressing room at the Fifth Avenue department store Bergdorf Goodman in the mid-1990s. With some of the libel allegations still under appellate review, Carroll’s assault complaint is now set for trial.” https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2023/04/trump-e-jean-carroll-suit-sexual-assault-kaplan.html “But when the pair entered the changing rooms, Carroll said under oath, Trump pushed her against the wall, twice bumping her head. “I was so shocked that I didn’t speak,” she said. “What I did was I laughed.” Carroll said Trump pulled down her tights and sexually assaulted her. The incident lasted a “very short time”, she said, adding that she never got the impression Trump wanted to hurt her. “But he had no concern for me,” Carroll said. “I was just there.” The writer said she later described the incident to a friend. “She told me I had been raped,” Carroll said, adding that the thought had not occurred to her.” https://amp.theguardian.com/us-news/2022/dec/21/writer-e-jean-carroll-rape-donald-trump-deposition You hear this story and think it’s nothing. I hear this story and it sounds very much like the two stories of rape that friends have shared with me. You mock it because you don’t believe rape is real, that women don’t get to say no. If they were in a position to be raped, it was their own fault and it was probably consensual. There’s plenty of evidence. And unfortunately, plenty of women have similar stories. |
Yeah she’s not wrong. Lots of people do think rape = ravishing a woman who’s just too tightly wound to say yes, but she means yes. And a few pps on this thread are proving her point. |
For her story to be true, Trump would have had to predict that she wouldn't want to help him pick out a hat, so he could then get her to try on lingerie. And this just happened to be at a time when no one was around. He just saw an opportunity and took it.
She is probably in big trouble with Trump's lawyers taking a look at the layout of the store in 1985 or 1986 compared to now(strange she can't pick out the year, did she get advice from Christine Blasey Ford?). Doubtful they would be able to get video from back then. |
