That's anyone's guess! |
NO. Send them to their families and we pay nothing! These kids are not supposed to be in detention this long. They have families willing to take them. |
|
I don’t trust any of these for profit contract detention people.
It is disgusting that our government is bringing in people to torture kids. |
Simply disgraceful. Toddlers in internment camps. Anne Frank is rolling over in her grave. |
| Can we talk numbers? What percent of our national budget would people like to see spent on processing these visitors? I hear a lot of critique of private agencies being hired, so presumably the people criticizing would like to see border patrol expanded to include in house social workers, doctors and more overall staff. Plus facilities. Plus supplies. How much of our national budget should we apply to an expanded, massive border patrol cum visitor reception service? Bearing in mind that this is processing people who will be released and then enter the court systems. |
|
Our current budget is about 4.5 trillion. Of that half goes just tonscoial security and defense. Defense isnt only "buying expensive bombs" as liberals like to shriek. It is also veteran services, presence around the world to maintain stability (think south korea) and keeping sea passage open for trade (think Iran and pirates) so that all world economies (including ours can function. It's also based in people home states that employ people and pour money into the economy.
Anyhow- after that the other half is remaining. Being mindful that we bring in about a trillion less in taxes than we are projected to spend- and a massive deficit on which we are paying interest. So we are basically living on borrowed money that our kids will need to "pay back".. how much of that should we dedicate yearly to hosting border visitors? |
Why are they coming to the border so sick? If I remember correctly, Nazis took healthy, often wealthy thriving Jews, stole from them, then placed them in camps where the lucky ones were gassed immediately. The others were starved, worked to the bone, forced to torture other, etc. Are you suggesting that our government is taking thriving families, thriving children out of their comfortable homes in their home countries and forcing them into border camps? |
It doesn't stop there. As liberals continue to allow these people to live here illegally, they then deliberately create pockets of poverty all over the nation, then scream "it's not fair!" as a way to redistribute the wealth of legal citizens and natural born citizens of this country. |
Front page Post article about rural Americans self treating tooth abscesses with peroxide and aspirin and waiting 4 years to see a doctor at a pop-up clinic. Wasnt Obama care supposed to address this? Who are are priorities? I am so confused.... At this point should we contract one centralized for profit group like KBR which sets up camps and food service for our war zone deployed military and coordinate with public health service workers to set up massive efficient encampments. Same standards our military get, pup tents and cans, basic medical and 3 catered mass meals. Obviously they will have to spend money on vetted child careers sho will live at the facility along side guards. |

Why is there this lengthy thread blaming the Trump admin. for the conditions at detention facilities when this was all started under Obama?

| So at remote border outposts overwhelmed by large volume drop offs we want the same standard of care as at long term facilities? Meanwhile rural Americans dont see a doctor, at all, for four years. Meanwhile our current deficit (that American children will pay) is 207 billion dollars. This years government budget gap rose to 42 percent (what comes in with taxes/goes out in expenditures). We are hosting our visitors on borrowed money - is it like monopoly money? Just trying to connect all the dots in this crisis. |
look, if you don't want them called "concentration camps," then you will have to provide a basic level of safe and sanitary conditions, as well as appropriate conditions for children. I'd like rural americans to have better access to health care. However, problems with US health care are not that we don't spend enough money. So you can drop that point that you think is so persuasive (because it is not). Finally, immigrants are a net positive contribution to the US economy. |
So what you are saying is that you are using the term 'concentration camps' as a political ploy to harbor illegal immigrants? Thank you for at least being honest We don't spend enough money? Send more of yours!! If you are living in a home, sell it. Surely you and your family can live in a one bedroom apartment so so many have so much less, right? I mean, at least you will have running water and electricity, etc. Just less space, but space is a convenience of the 'haves'. |

Oh, NOW R’s are worried about the deficit
Maybe we shouldn’t have passed tax cut upon tax cut and then cried poormouth |
Blaming our country’s failings of poor people on other poor people. If only we could get rid of these illegal poor people then all the good things will shower down upon you legal poor people. |
