What is ED--ish? |
Not in the least. They are very wealthy. They are cheap and don’t ever think of the needs of others. |

The wealthy old women come back to the era of Jackie O, and the diets that many mention sounds like taken straight from her life. The starvation, the one egg a day and few steam veggies now and then and some broiled chicken.. look it up. Even wealthy young women don't eat that way and are still skinny. The diet is more diverse and way more healthy.
Upper crust is not forgiving comes to weight. It is not in a good taste to be anything different then perfect and there is a huge pressure on you. The fridge thing, it reflects the very basic needs for very basic foods. If you don't cook and don't eat then why bother with more stuff in the fridge? It is pretty amusing how times changed. In the old days you wanted to be rich to have plenty of food and dress beautifully. Now when you are rich you need to starve and you need to wear clothes that shows the world that you don't care.. which you achieve by wearing very expensive artificially aged clothing.

There!..
(…) [b]a boiled egg and tea in the morning, cottage cheese with fresh fruit for lunch, and a poached chicken breast or fish with a salad or steamed vegetables for dinner. I think her attitude is/was common of women in previous generations. Both of my grandmothers had similar approaches. My dad’s mom was a blue blood and always ate like a bird. She would always boast that on her wedding day she weighed 98 pounds. My other grandmother worked hard to always weigh 130. I think it really was seen as some sort of deficiency to be chubby, and inexcusable to be fat, in their worlds. |
It’s PLUMP. Not plumb. |
is it healthy? |
Is it healthy to be overweight? |

They don’t eat.
I would say they find joy in other things, but they aren’t a joyous bunch. I’m not in the DC area, but I’m around a wealthier crowd now. They aren’t much fun. They aren’t pretty either. Just sort of thin and grim. I’m fat right now. Not chubby. I’m fat. I’m sure these ladies are horrified by my rolls. I definitely have decided to prioritize my health this summer, and plan to lose weight, but if I had to choose- I choose fat and happy over whatever is happening with the thin and grim crowd. |

My SIL is super waspy but in her twenties.
She is 5’6 but maybe 105lbs. She says she eats 600 calories a day. She works out hard every morning and eats maybe one small meal a day. She is thin and gorgeous and fit. Clothes look amazing on her. But she is very severe and not fun. She will have a bit or two of pizza or froesboccasiobally but nothing more. |
A little bit, sure! Being super thin is for vanity purposes, not health. |
I’ve known many many slim or skinny women. Haven’t met one yet over the age of 30 that ate a lot. Not one not ever. There must be some out there somewhere. |
| Two options: They don’t eat or they don’t treat their diabetes (diabanorexic) |
I doubt that she's fit. She's severely underweight. |
I am a skinny 39 who does not diet or eat the way Jackie O did. I eat bread, French fries, and pizza, sometimes in large quantities. But I don’t do this every day. I still eat other things though. It’s not binge/fast. I actually have a bad chick fil a habit - 2-3x a week for lunch or dinner. |
