Do you think women are more attractive now or in the past?

In some aspects, I think men and women are more attractive, or at least have the potential to be more attractive. Those who are not overweight and not plastic are more naturally attractive. I believe this because we are more diverse as a population with more interracial marriage and children. Look it up, it's biology. Genetic diversity means stronger, healthier, and more attractive populations.

However I do think non-mixed, white people have gotten less attractive. (I am white). Especially white Americans as opposed to Europeans. When I think of young white men, I think either overweight sloppy video gamers, or skinny soy boys. The white beefcake no longer exists and when he does, he's usually a douche bro and loses his body eventually to alcohol. That or he's gay. There are far more Black and Latino men with nice bodies than white men.
White American women tend to either fall into the dumb blonde stereotype or the tattooed, overweight Lena Dunham type woman.

The best thing we can do biologically for better attractiveness is to continue to welcome diversity, but not silo it off (don't just marry your own, race mixing is preferable) and to lose the damn weight. Stop spending your days under fluorescent lights in an office, chill out and lose the stress, eat real non-processed food, spend more time outdoors, and stop caking on chemical-laden makeup.

In the seventies and eighties all we saw on television and print were blonde, blue-eyed, small-breasted, mildly athletic (in a tennis-playing sort of way) women: Farrah Fawcett, Cheryl Tiegs, Christie Brinkley. Beauty is aspirational and now that there is some genetic diversity in media ( at least on Instagram), other girls see themselves reflected. Far easier for a curvy Latina, Middle-eastern Or Black girl to experiment with contour and approximate Kim Kardashian Or Beyoncé than become a thin blonde. We all know skinny blondes will never go out of style. White men just need to be high-earners to be attractive.

There are thin and petite latinas me women and black girls you know. Not all of us are injecting fat into our bodies to achieve the stripper slash rapper look. Also the decent ones won't sleep with rich white guys for their money or papers.

Other than that, I think women have more access to STAY beautiful as they age so I guess more attractive now- as long as it looks natural.

Yeah what is up with the duck lip trend? Women are filling up their lips and think it's beautiful.

Too much birth control has left many women bloated and overweight. And I’m not knocking it for its intended use, but this is a real and visible side effect.

Haha, I was a teen and college student in the ineties and look at pictures and think, man I could have looked SO cute and instead I was wearing overalls and flannel shirts! But you k ow what? I’m kinda glad I grew up when that was the style. Took the pressure off. Now college aged girls seem to feel pressure to dress like skimpily clad models.

I loved the 90's. No social media, no internet dating, no constant need to look good for selfies or videos on social media, no fakeness on social media. Everyone was real and met in real life and everyone didn't suffer from back or neck problems or were as fat as they are now due to social media.

Are you talking about 1890?

Do you actually think the internet was around in 1900, or 1950 or even 1990?

People may be more attractive but they are certainly dumber.

If that’s what you understood, you’re the dumb one!

I think that millenial women overall are much more naturally plain than women of past generations and they all kind of look alike (same clothes, same hairstyle). And maybe it is just the DC area, but I have never really seen a stunning millenial woman. They are really only nice looking to any extent because of their youth. But, man, they are TALL.

Oh I now realise you were referring to the 90 part. Sorry I don't find you funny. I've met millenials who don't know what a disc is, I thought you were one of those.

It is the DC area. The women in the DC area are not particularly attractive. I'm not sure why. But go down south and you'll see a lot better looking women

True. A whole lot of plain in this town.

Everyone looks the same now.

Botoxed face, fillers everywhere, stenciled eyebrows, contouring make-up, eyelash extensions, refined nose tips, tan.

Same damn look on every face in Hollywood and becoming increasingly the same damn look on every middle class to wealthy woman.

I'm 36 and UMC and very few women I know who are my age do any of these. Eyebrow waxing, hair dye when you go gray, and pedicures are normal. But I rarely even wear makeup and that's not uncommon.

Since I've been home some of the talk show ladies are beyond scary. Overly made up, Botox, horrible surgery, and who knows what.

One of my family members told me to change the channel because the host reminded him of a Morlock.

Watch the Woodstock concert on Youtube, you really see the difference in peoples appearances. Clearly they were more fit and looked a lot better. You don't see the obesity or many chubby people. Better food and less chemicals. No surgery and other horrible things people are doing today.

I feel like 2000-2010 was a good decade...women seemed to take good care of themselves, dress to accentuate their forms, not too much makeup but not too little, and had yet to totally over-botox it.

Now it's like an entire generation just let itself go. Everyone is overweight. No one seems to shave anymore. Dressing is...interesting. Makeup when it is applied is done poorly.

Same applies to men btw.

Yes men are wearing makeup better than women

I'd say the exact opposite.

People in DC, as well as other major professional cities, look more put-together, classy, and less overweight than in the rural South.

For example, within my group of friends I'd think I was about average. At the lower end of the BMI scale but I'm young and haven't had kids. I wear a size 2-4 and would say most of my friends would wear the same size, give or take a few inches in height. It absolutely floors me that the average weight of an American woman is 170 lbs. I look around me and think how is that possible that so many American women weight that much, and that 49.9% weigh significantly more, to offset people like my 115-135 lb colleagues?

Then I look at people in other places. Last time it really hit me was when I took a connecting flight in Houston last year. Holy moly. Everyone was a whale.
