Maybe that's why she had the kids down at her parents for six weeks. She knew he couldn't handle them by himself when she was on her 'trips'. Apparently not even 2-3 days which is a pretty short time to solo parent.

I've never done MLM, but I assume it means you've sold $80K worth of stuff. Out of that, you have to buy the inventory. The difference between the $80K and the cost of goods (and any other expenses, like travel or marketing expenses) is what you actually "make". It's the difference between revenue ($80K) and profit (might be $20K, might be $5K, might be nothing - or even negative).

I sold Pampered Chef for a very short period of time. I made 20% of any product I sold. However, every quarter they were coming out with new products that I was strongly encouraged to buy to use in my demonstrations. The more product I owned, the better for my parties. I had to buy samples to pass out to guests that came to the parties - the really inexpensive products that I could pass out to guests as door prizes or "thank you's" for coming to the party. I had to purchase all the paperwork that we used (this was in 1995 pre-widespread internet so some of the paperwork may not be necessary anymore.) If I remember, product catalogs were really expensive. I quit before I even broke even. I did get a bunch of pampered chef kitchen products at a more reasonable price. 20 years later, I do still love my pampered chef glass bowl!
