When I questioned my well below average raise (first time ever!), he claimed the reason was low productivity: That year, I was on medication for nausea and vomiting (the one that also makes you fatigued!), and later modified bedrest - still doing my job, with some accommodations (like sitting rather than standing); then maternity leave.

All of these examples are sickening. What's worse, however, is reading the responses that seek to justify the boss' bad behavior. Shouldn't being treated with basic human dignity be an expectation in the workplace? Why are all of these assholes allowed to inflict emotional and psychological pain on their employees!?
