New Josh Duggar Scandal- Ashley Madison leak

Wow! The Kardashians are the looking like goody-two-shoes now compared to Duggars!

Anyways, the moral of the story is that if you position yourself as unabashedly debauched (Kardashians), things can only look good for you. If you position yourself to be all about family values or something wholesome (Jon and Kate + 8, Duggars) you will be be found out.

It makes me sad that Josh finds career women sexy, women in jeans, oral sex - normal healthy awesome things that his cult told him weren't right for him.

It's a lesson in not marrying young and dating as a teenager/ young adult.

You missed the part about him saying Satan was responsible (but deleting it), eh? That's not owning it at all.

Eh, if he believes that Satan made him do it that doesn't really shock me...that's the cult he was raised in and he probably believes that Satan is responsible for all bad things. At least he didn't ignore or deny the allegations; he responded pretty quickly and took responsibility for the most part.

Cosby on the other hand still denies any wrongdoing for drugging and raping countless women.

In Cosby vs. Duggar, Duggar wins. No clue what the prize is.

This is an interesting question. How do you rank the skeeziness/criminality/culpability of these three, assuming the rankings go from bad to badder to worse:

Cosby (serial rapist/drugger of 40+ women while maintaining a the facade of a "family values" entertainer)
Jared from Subway (child pornographer; paid prostitutes to hook him up with 14-year-olds for sex)
Josh Duggar (molested 4 sisters and at least one other girl as a teen; cheated on -- or attempted to cheat on his pregnant wife; led the conservative "family values" Family Research Council)

I think I'd go 1. Duggar; 2. Cosby and 3. Jared. Jared behind Cosby only because his victims were kids.

+1

I was raised atheist (still am) but have been married for 10 years and working with kids for 11 years. I've never cheated on the marriage nor laid a hand on a child in a harmful way. But DH and I watch porn together so perhaps we're just normal, satisfied people

That's the key here. Religious people can be normal, too. I'm a practicing Catholic, have never cheated or harmed a child, and have a satisfying sex life.

I don't think I could rank order those 3. They are all disgusting in their own way.

I think the religious aspect of this is more how extreme their views on sex and relationships are, to the point of being harmful. I don't think all religious people have unhealthy views on sexuality. The Catholic Church is a bit extreme in their anti-birth control nonsense, but Francis seems to be softening a lot of the hard line views that have turned so many sour on the church in recent years.

This scandal with this kid is sad and delicious all at once because of the utter hypocrisy. How dare he cast stones at others. Asshole.

I hope Anna gets checked for STDs.

And please please get on birth control. Although she'll likely be sent to some effed up version of therapy on being a properly available wife to her husband to help him ward off Satan, and more babies ward of Satan, or something like that.

Where are the Josh Duggar supporters now?? When the molestation charges came out, they were all over the internet. But now, silence. Kind of sad that molesting siblings gets you a defense, but affairs, silence.

I'm always worried about Jana. I want her to move out of that crazy house. She is too old to live there. She still has to wait for Jim Bob to find someone to "court" her?

He is only owning it because he has no other choice. It is all over the media.

Um, so is the Cosby scandal...dozens and dozens of victims...but Cosby claims he's innocent.

I haven't been watching the list of Cosby victims extremely closely, but I'm willing to bet a lot of money that at least some of them were underage when he raped them.

This may only scratch the surface of messed up young Duggars. What else is lurking behind their sunny dispositions?

Here's a thought: stop "positioning" and just live your life the best way you know how. And if you cannot do that, just get help -- go to a 12 step group, a therapist, a clergy person, a trusted friend for help. Reality TV and its ilk is ridiculous. People aren't meant to be idolized or worshipped. You'd think the Duggars, as religious Christians, would get that. Too bad money and fame are so tempting to so many.

Religious does not mean spiritual. Duggars are cultish. close-minded and none of them have the qualification that can get them a real job in the world. In the way they have raised their daughters, they are as backward as the Taliban. What I found amazing was that other Christians embraced them as if they were some right wing Christian version of "Von Trapp" family.
