I saw some show years ago following a young woman (probably around 20) courting and all the rules around it (can't be alone, can't touch, etc). Then they got married shortly after. The thing that troubled me the most was that this young woman truly believed that she would have the perfect marriage because they courted "the right way". Seems like a crazy thing to teach your kids.

Here's a thought: stop "positioning" and just live your life the best way you know how. People aren't meant to be idolized or worshipped. You'd think the Duggars, as religious Christians, would get that. Too bad money and fame are so tempting to so many.

Religious does not mean spiritual. Duggars are cultish. close-minded and none of them have the qualification that can get them a real job in the world. In the way they have raised their daughters, they are as backward as the Taliban. What I found amazing was that other Christians embraced them as if they were some right wing Christian version of "Von Trapp" family.

The way they've raised their sons is just as damaging as Josh shows.

As much as I blame him, I blame his parents too. They didn't allow his prefrontal cortex to develop naturally and so his hippocampus is the ruler of his brain. Idiotic parenting. It is easy to see that in the other boys- they are all stunted emotionally.

Cosby did get accused of raping a 15 year old at the Playboy Mansion in 1974. Which doesn't surprise me. He played dad/mentor to these young women/girls. It just adds a layer of sickness to the whole thing.

I remember in one episode of the show the mom said that only she and the girls had the password to the internet because there was too much temptation on the internet for men. That her husband and boys might be tempted to watch inappropriate things. I don't know if she mentioned the word porn or not. I bet they caught Josh surfing the internet for porn and that is why they did that. Just like after Josh abused his sisters they built one big room for all the girls that was located past the parents bedroom, but on the show they explained that all the girls wanted to sleep in the same room.

Yeah, it's so bizarre that they thought their godly lifestyle was superior, when they had clear, real evidence that it wasn't working.

You know who doesn't seem to be chiming are the Duggar defenders and fans. I tihnk there was mulitpage thread a few months ago and all the defenders were like "yall just hate christians"-- they are awfully silent now!

That's true. Their defenders are oddly silent. Is that because this is in the entertainment section or people really jumped the Dugger ship?
