i think you've actually proved what some pp's are saying. you probably had top tier facial genetics. otherwise it is a fail. |
The beauty industry is for women and gay men judging women. Go to strip clubs and see what percentage of the women trying to be sexually attractive to men have short hair there. They exist, but it's a small percentage. |
Personally - I prefer long messy hair. Also, I've heard that bobs aren't necessarily easy to maintain when compared to pulling long hair into a pony tail. |
I'd love to but the fact of the matter is that it adds 45 minutes to my morning routine, and I'd rather spend it sleeping. Plus I could never achieve the same look by myself because my arms grow out of my armpits, and not out of a magical place two feet over my shoulders (where the average hairdresser would be). It would be close but not the same. But, see above re: sleeping. |
It's not about styling, although time is important too. It's a simple fact that hair - yes, ours as well as yours - thins with age. At 45, very few women have enough hair to look good with hair past their shoulders. They exist. But they are a minority. And I personally find long and obviously thinning hair a turnoff. |
My wife always had long hair - her choice - and messy or not it was a good look. On the other hand there are some women's dating profile photos - 50ish years old - where they have old lady shorter hair and it makes them look less feminine. And old. |
Most brides wear their hair up at the wedding. Not falling down. I stopped cutting my hair before the wedding only because my stylist told me longer hair is easier to put up and keep up neatly. That's all. |
Meows everywhere |
Long hair in a pony tail can be sexy. Plus, it has the flexibility to be down and long. Short hair in a bob or otherwise can't be worn any other way, even casually. |
Perfectly answered. Ladies take note. |
| Trust me, long hair adds 10 years to my face. Visible layers just ebd up as a poofy Rachael. Only a well cut bob really works. |
I'm a hairdresser and this is true. Hormone shifts cause hair to thin. Many women don't want to cut it but their hair is thinning and this is the only way to combat it. Not sure what men are complaining about. Most of you are balding...and fat. |

It's all women and gay men telling women to cut their hair. There is some kind of social pressure on women, from other women, to cut their hair -- telling them "you're too old for that." I still contend the number of men telling a woman "you look sexier with the bob" is very rare. Not so rare is the husband who comes home to find his wife with a sexless bob because she chose her friend's opinion over his when the friend said "the bob would look so cute" and the husband said "I prefer when you have long hair."
And if thinning hair is a reason it looks bad as women hit 45 and 50, it still doesn't explain the number of women who get the mommy-bob soon after they get married -- a late 20s, early 30s phenomenon. |
The look of a woman, even if she's 10 years older, is sexier than that of someone who looks like a boy -- even a younger one. I mean, do what makes you happy - but the question in this topic is "how can a woman look more attractive to a man." Rationalize why men's preferences ought to be different all you want and certainly feel free to disregard men's opinions, but men almost always find women more attractive with longer hair. |
It's not. It's that shorter hair is infinitely easier to maintain and style. Would you want to get up 45 minutes earlier every other day to keep long hair salon-worthy? No? Didn't think so. It's not longer hair you like. It's an idea of a longer hair that's completely divorced from the reality of working woman and wife. It's like those action movies that always make me snicker - where a FEMALE action hero runs through fire and gun battles chasing bad guys with her long hair waving about. The truth is most women would prefer their hair out of their face if they have to as much as wash a single cup. Long hair is in the way of life if your life is about more than display. |
