| Avery, Logan (on a girl or a boy), Harper |
Way to not read the thread. |
| I cringe at Faith, Hope, Christian, Grace, and Reagan. |
+1 Once nice names that have been totally and completely beaten into the ground. |
| Can't stand Sophie and Sophias, Isabellas, and first names that sound like last names Taylor/Madison/Monroe/Connor. |
| Rylan, Riley, Kiley, Kaleigh, Kyleigh |
| Finley, Cameron, Sydney (this makes me think of an old Jewish man in Florida), Addelyn, Baylee, Bailey |
I'm with you on much of this list, except Hope. I really like that name - but it is my middle name, so maybe I am biased. It's such a wonderful meaning, and not 100% areligious meaning. Christian doesn't bother me too much, but my lifelong Christian Slater crush is a factor. I don't really like it as a name for a kid, though. Reagan? BLECH! |

If a child's first name is a surname within the family, it is fine. Certain families have done this for generations. It may also be a middle name, again very typical of family tradition.
When a surname is given to a baby as a first name, and the surname is not a name within the family, it is clearly being chosen to make the kid/family seem WASPy and upper class. THAT it is completely CHEESY and tacky. |
I know a Caileigh |
Me too. Do you also know TKL? |

Cowboy names: Wyatt, Colton.
Also, Jaden, Ryder. And made up names/spellings. I saw "Coalbey" recently on Facebook. |

The ubiquitous "J" names: Jacob, Jayden, Jason, Jayden, Jordan, Jared, ...
Also, I can never tell all these apart and there are SO many of them now: Brandon, Brendan, Brennan, Branson. |
| I read most of the thread, but not all. Why am I not seeing names like Shaquanda, Le'bron, Sha'nice, Ja'leel, etc? |
