Power Outages

No power 22102.

20854 only lost power for 5 minutes last night. I don't feel out of the woods yet though could easily lose it sometime today. Feel unbelievably relieved that we didn't lose power.

wow!
Ashton is a mini-Potomac . . . no lie.

It is close to Olney and Brookeville.

And PLEASE don't tell me you have never heard of either one!

I have heard of Olney, but couldn't place it on a map with a gun to me head. Brookville is as much of a mystery as Ashton. Ask yourself - why on earth would someone who lives in DC, or Bethesda, or Arlington have ever heard of Brookville?

Truly, you need to get out more. There's a whole other world beyond the boundaries you indicated.
Of course - but what is it about Brookville or Ashton that would require a visit?

Unfortunately, I think it had to do with the track of the storm and rather than affirmative action by PEPCO. I say unfortunately because there are always snow storms and heavy showers in our future.

I thought Brookeville was near Silver Spring.

I hate to defend Pepco, but there were over 100K outages for both Dominion to the south and BGE to the north. I think it's possible all their tree hacking has actually done some good for the area.

Maybe derecho trimmed some trees?

Whatever it was I'm glad we didn't waste money on groceries this week.

Still no power in Arlington and we are fighting flooding. Anyone else in Arlington ? I only have a few minutes on the Internet here, can anyone give me some info? Dominion said: outages severe, no est time of restoration.
Anonymous
On Twitter Dominion Power said thy should have all of Arlington back to power by Thursday sometime. We are sitting with no power in Lyon Park. Lots of downed trees around here.

There is a Brookville Road in Silver Spring, but it's not an area.

Brookeville, MD is a little area with some nice homes. There's an historic district, too.

Now (to the other PP) why would you visit? I didn't say I wanted you in my neck of the woods, as where we live -Brinklow - is nice and cozy and definitely NOT crowded. We prefer it that way. But there are such things as maps that reach BEYOND Bethesda and DC.

So even if you're fearful of driving outside of your comfort zone, you can at least be aware of these areas by looking on the computer.

just incredible

Still no power in 22102.

I just got power back in Crystal City. But a friend a 5 minute walk away doesn't have power yet.

It's not so much fear as complete lack of interest. But I'm glad you like it. Not sure why I would look it up, though - just because some random poster on DCUM lives there?
