What have you bought that was a complete waste of money?

So funny so many people like the Baby Bjorn because that's the one carrier I wouldn't buy again! Maybe you were smart and got the kind with lumbar support, because after DS was about three months old, my back couldn't take it anymore. I lovelovelove my Ergo and the two ring slings a girlfriend made for me.

A swing - brought the baby home one holiday and he loved the swing at my mother's. Came back to DC and promptly bought one for him. He HATED it, wouldn't stay in it for more than a few minutes at a time. Luckily I bought it off CL so it's not like a paid a lot, and I was able to sell it a month later for the same price.

shoes with heels higher than 1". love them in the store, suffer them on my feet once, and then they take up space in my closet because I can't bear to get rid of them after wearing them only once. can't seem to learn my lesson!

Separates on sale that I am sure I can find the perfect thing to go with. I never do and then I end up with a lot of random clothes that I don't really wear.

The Joovy sit and stroll. It is like pushing a cruise ship

Buckets of nipple cream....no ones nipples need that much balm.

The entire stroller system....you only need a carseat and the univeral for the the first five months.

Yup, I hear you.

I LOVE our temperpedic mattress. So does my DH. We have had several friends sleep over (we take the air mattress and give guests our bed)...two couples have gone out and bought a temperpedic after sleeping on ours. To each his own...

So much yes. I have a girlfriend who's pregnant now and this is the first thing I told her. It's not that I never use the bigass Graco Metrolite, but I wouldn't buy it again. Rookie mistake. I seriously overestimated how much I could easily carry, by myself, with the baby.

You and millions of other women, baby. Useless and a complete waste.

This thread is hilarious!

My biggest wastes are not one, but TWO treadmills (don't ask). the best part is that I used to have a treadmill at home, then go to the gym to run on the treadmill. Now I do nothing, but after posting this, maybe I'll use my treadmill today.

Also, a huge SUV. Bought it for DH and I ended up being stuck with it.

I do feel better about NOT buying a lot of the baby items after reading this (I'm pretty cheap . . . er . . . frugal.)

I do NOT regret meals at restaurants with my friends/husband. Think of the conversation and experience--they are memories now. On the other hand, I DO regret some of the more stressful rushed meals at places like Cactus Cantina with the kids. Buckets of uneaten food and zero adult conversation!!

A vibrator. Could have just used my electric toothbrush.

StorkSak diaper bag- big, heavy, cumbersome

Moby Wrap- DS hated it

Lawnmower (we gave up 3 weeks after moving to the 'burbs and hired a lawn service)

Bugaboo Chameleon- I loathe that thing

Breast Pump- I nursed exclusively for 6 months, but never could get more than a ounce or two out while pumping. Ended up having to use formula when I went back to work.

Baby nurse

DH and I did just fine on our own and we actually dreaded having a 3rd wheel getting in the way. We figured things out as we went along and had some trials and errors, but who doesn't and the the baby nurse certainly wasn't more helpful than good ol' common sense.
