Why can't Obama produce a birth certificate?

Attitude?

Sense of entitlement?

Sense of being above the law?

All three? Probably.

The Supreme Court has already said he is within the law. Is there a super-supreme court that you know of which has not yet ruled on this?

I'll give you attitude. His attitude is that 0% of the birthers will ever vote for him, and 90% of the birthers are closet racists, so why bother giving them anything? He has complied with the law and there is nothing you can do but waste your time trying to prove that he is from Kenya, that there is a 49 year old conspiracy to fake his place of birth to one day become President, and whatever else you nuts want to go after. It is a hobby that is much safer than lynching black people. To you 10% non-lynching birthers, I guess you guys are just on a wild goose chase. But I will give you a lead on an even bigger scandal: Watergate was a false flag operation. Check it out, it's true.

As I understand things:

The certificate posted online by the Hawaiian government is "prima facie evidence" of his birth in the US. In any case, it has never been been definitively decided that having a mother who is a US (natural born) citizen is not sufficient to make him a "natural born citizen". So the best evidence is that he is qualified to be President whether or not the original certificate exists.

So assume the worst, that it is lost and nobody wants to admit it, or that it contains something (perhaps that he was designated as Muslim at birth) that he does not want public. He is within hisrights not to publicize it, since we already have proof that he satisfies the Constitution, and the rest is his private business -- just as Clinton could have (and I think should have) told that reporter it was nobody's business what type of underwear he used.

If it was lost, how does Hawaii know hw was born there? See...thats why if it is lost they will not say it. It opens a huge number of questions.

Any GOP candidate should refuse to debate Obama until he produces his original certificate. If he is so worried about it people should be aware of that before they vote. No sense in having secrets.

So I have been thinking about this nonsense and have decided that I think Obama is holding out to give these idiot birthers enough rope to hang themselves. For example, Trump, who is actually doing okay in early polls, is hopping headfirst into the pit of murky racist crazy right-wing birthers. So I think that at a certain point, Obama will release the next piece of definitive evidence and then everyone will see how psychotic these people are. Trump for example, will not be a viable candidate at that point.

That would be fine. Shoot yourself in the foot. Good luck with your reality show celebrities - I mean your presidential hopefuls.

There are only two kinds of republicans who will run for office this year- those who have been on a reality show, and those who will soon be on a reality show.

The birth certificate thing doesn't bother me in the least. I have no doubt that he is an American Citizen. And I think Birthers are creepy nuts.

However, I am curious. Do most Democrats/Liberals think he will be reelected? My husband thinks it's a given. I'm not so sure.

He'll probably get re-elected. The economy added over 200,000 jobs in both February and March, and economists think that we will continue to add jobs going forward. If it does, that's several million new jobs by election day.

Let's see. If Obama was born in Kenya to an American mother, he would be a U.S. citizen in any case. Yet the birthers would have everyone believe that Obama's parents faked his birth in the 50th state and planted live birth announcements in two Hawaii newspapers. All this in a scheme to preserve his eligibility to be elected President someday. That looked like a sure plan for a mixed-race baby born in 1961!

Or why won't he? Because he doesn't have to. He has proven to the satisfaction of the Supreme Court that he was born in Hawaii. The rest is just to please the people who hate him. You aren't going to vote based on his birth certificate. And neither are the birthers. They will never vote for him, even if he called a press conference with the doctor who delivered him and a videotape of the blessed event.

Still it would give them one less thing to b*tch about. I think when he launches his next run...he should make campaign logos with an imprint of this birth certificate.

EXACTLY. I would think that the controversy WAS put to bed by now, but the nutjobs keep dragging it back. No idea why other than they just hate the guy and are grasping at straws.

How can he if he has lost it? Is a requirement of being a president include the ability to perform magic and conjur up lost items from the past?
The burden of proof is on ALL THE CRAZY PEOPLE to come up with some ACTUAL EVIDENCE. There is 0 evidence that he is not a naturalized citizen. ZERO.
