Why can't Obama produce a birth certificate?

I'm not doubting that he's an American citizen but what I don't get is why does he refuse to produce a genuine birth cert? Why do we have to just take his word for it? Could he have in fact been born in Kenya?

| I have never seen such smoke and diversion about a birth certificate. Trump is right, Obama's origins are odd. No childhood friends, nobody remembers him. Very strange. The original and detailed birth certificate apparently doesn't exist. No doctor or nurse comes forth to say they were at the birth. He can only produce a certificate of live birth that was printed in 2007. Even wierder is who pays for an ad to be put in a newspaper about a birth? And the democrat governor saying he remembers Obama being born is hilarious. I don't know where the President was born but the public is right about the fact that the President has no original birth certificate. |

| Whatever. My parents lost my original birth certificate, so I only have a certified copy that was printed later. It's good enough for any identification purposes. |

| a certified copy has the original signiture copies which can be verified. As well as other details from the time period that can be validated. |

| it's entirely possible that record keeping in 1961 Hawaii was not perfect. they were only two years into being in the union at that point. |

| Everybody knows he doesn't have a birth certificate. Now start making up excuses. The birthers are so much smarter than the pro Obama media. The greatest was watching Trump (a very smart man) put up his certificate of live birth and have the media rush to say it wasn't a real birth certificate and then produce his real copy. Now the media is on board that Obama's birth certificate is not a "real" birth certificate. Awesome! |

My DH is from Hawaii and we needed his birth certificate for a visa. It took us 48 hours to get it overnighted to us.
