The Bachelorette -- TFP

Is that the standard? Whether or not Dakota was concerned for his life?

I'll answer it for you -- it isn't.

She's an idiot.

She probably has monetized social media accounts and needs to keep posting to make money. Her SLOMW paychecks may also dry up as that filming is also on hold.

I think she is going to be pulled from that show too. You don’t get to set millions of dollars on fire at a mega corporation and keep your job.

I'm hoping they sue the heck out of her to recoup whatever they can. If ABC's attorneys were even half awake, there are terms in her contract that will help them with this very unfortunate but foreseeable mess. Never thought I'd be siding with a corp against a young single mom, but here we are. Taylor is noxious.

I don't know how they can sue her. None of this was a secret. Her arrest was televised on SLOMW. The police report and video have been in evidence since 2023 and could have been obtained via a FOIA request (likely how TMZ got them). She has talked about it and said she was the aggressor in interviews years ago. The show says they do background checks and there is a video circulating of someone who hosted an ABC Bachelor spin off and he said they did a thorough background check on him. Her Feb 2026 DV case is still under investigation - no charges yet. Unless her contract specific no further arrests / charges allowed and she does get arrested / charged, I don't know what they could sue her for. This was all out in the open and available to them.

I have little doubt that this is in her contract. They are called "morality clauses" and tend to have language that results in consequences for talent that engage in behavior that brings themselves or the show into "public disrepute, contempt, scandal, or ridicule." No way they took on a mess like TFP without a clause like this to protect the network's reputation and shield themselves from losing advertising revenue (Cinnabon was the first to exit from partnering with the show, and did so before that video came out). And this is The Bachelorette -- she spoiled the allure of the whole show with going back to Dakota before the show aired, which probably violates a clause in her contract in some way as well.

Are you ABC General Counsel or something? You're making a lot of assumptions.

Lol. Ok. Are you Taylor's publicist or something?

First, no, I was not "this mad when Colton Underwood was allowed to stay on Traitors" because I don't even know what that is.

As far as Steffon Diggs, he was playing ball, he wasn't literally making money off of cameras being on him literally because of an inability to self regulate.

Got it, so you're cool with it when a man is allowed to continue his career after domestic assault convictions. It's only a woman who needs to be "held accountable."

You are stupidly setting up a false dichotomy.

Of course Steffon Diggs should be held accountable (and I'll point out here that he got into a fight with his chef, not a romantic partner while in the room with a toddler). Hopefully he is prosecuted to the full extent of the law. But the Super Bowl is not reality tv -- it isn't a show like SLOMW specifically created to showcase and reward the emotional lability and violent inclinations of it's main cast member, nor is it a show like The Bachelorette specifically created to find a new romantic partner for someone who has a clear and documented track record of violently abusing at least one prior partner, as well as a small child.

Taylor was prosecuted to the full extent of the law. She pled guilty, was convicted, and sentenced to a couple years of probation.

I didn't even know she was The Bachelorette or that she had a history of DV until yesterday. I still couldn't pick her out of a lineup.

But it's telling that you have double standards for women and men convicted of domestic abuse.

Well that's what he said, to police. He was so concerned for his life, in fact, that he stood there with a camera filming her while she launched not one, not two, but THREE metal barstools in the direction of his stepchild. As we all would be if we were concerned for a child's safety. Yep. Just go on, throw chairs in their direction while I film.

You people are insane. She pled guilty to domestic assault three years ago. ABC knew about this, they just didn't know there was a video.

The only thing that was forseeable was that someone who pled guilty to domestic assault committed domestic assault. Don't act like ABC had no effing clue.

The Bachelorette wasn't just pulled because of a three-year old charge. Taylor wrapped shooting on The Bachelorette, where she got "engaged" to a guy, then turned around, came home, went right back to Dakota, and the police were promptly called in on yet another domestic. The video making the rounds is simply the straw that broke ABC's back, or maybe not even, they might have pulled the show anyway whether this video surfaced or not.

I agree. I think the fact she faked it is a bigger issue for the show. She slept with Dakota the night before filming started and went right back to him when filming ended. She was with him all along. There is no authenticity or story for them to tell. It was all faked. She got fakely engaged to someone on the show while with someone else in real life. Reality tv is all pretend but the viewers knowing she was still with her long time on again and off again partner is a hard one to pretend around!

+1. There is no way they would pull the show otherwise for an issue they already knew about. This was a convenient reason for them to pull a season that they severely regretted filming.

Is it just poor reading comprehension with you? Or is it worse — a total lack of critical thinking skills? Or is it even worse than that — just garden variety stupidity?

TMZ confirmed that Tate (father of the oldest 2 children) had never seen the video. He went to court and got temporary sole custody after the arrest in 2023 but shared custody was returned about 2 months later. Taylor had told him the child was not hit. He also had never been allowed to speak to Dakota.

According to TMZ, Tate had asked police to see the video and been denied as it identified Dakota as the victim of the DV.

Umm, literally who? I had to google those names. The Diggs athlete is a trainwreck who was just cut from his team. His career is over. It's also funny how you're comparing a 1 in a 1,000,000 star pro athlete to some talentless dime a dozen ghetto single mom on a reality show. Drag a dollar through a trailer park and you'll find plenty of 30-somethings like her.

According to Dakota's roommate Taylor attacked him for two nights in Feb after fiding out he had slept with someone else while she was away filming the Bachelorette - where she portrayed herself as single, dated, did fantasy suites, and got engaged to someone...

I wonder if the guy she got engaged to was in on the ruse? He doesn't seem all that mad so I am guessing she told him maybe on fantasy suites and he agreed to go along with it. Probably for more airtime as it they could create drama and a showdown with Dakota on SLOMW.

I didn’t see anything from the winner, but filming finished in December so they may have broken up immediately after the show finished.

First off, maybe not. Second, you don’t use “corporate lawyers” for this. Third, I’d bet she’s not “judgment proof” (whatever you think you mean by that).

Probably just glad to have dodged a bullet at this point.
