The Bachelorette -- TFP

Anonymous
I was hoping they would pull The Bachelorette given how new (and arguably predictable) allegations of DV involving TFP have hit the news. But to see Hulu promoting it with a trailer that ends in the lyrics of "Look what you just made me do" is beyond the bounds of good taste.

Discuss.

the franchise has survuved worse scandals. I watch sporadically. I used to watch and read reality steve, but it's just too crazy.

I guess they felt the franchise needed a jolt - an infusion of freshness. But buy this seems messy. But who knows, maybe it will be good for ratings. But it's not good for that woman's mental health, nad it sure isn't great for her kids.

She’s an abuser and doesn’t belong on tv in anyway.

I definitely have aged out of the demo for this show because I was disgusted and frankly confused that they would cast someone convicted of domestic violence as the lead. Imagine if they had cast a dude as the bachelor who had a DV conviction on his record?! Entirely predictable than this is how it has ended up, she’s an unstable person who resorts to violence.

Giving a pass to someone with a history of DV to be on a dating show is surreal. It's 2026 and this crap should not fly.

Agree- if the lead were a male with these accusations, the show would be pulled. Chris Harrison was shunned from the franchise for less.

This is disturbing. They need to pull her season.

+1, I was coming here to say the same thing. You cannot give this person a platform like the bachelorette given the behavior exhibited on this video and knowing she’s facing another DV criminal investigation. Can you imagine if a man was on video doing what TFP did?!

Seriously, we cannot and should not condone DV by either gender. This is totally unacceptable behavior and the Bachelorette should not be rewarding this type of behavior with a TV show where the perpetrator is the "star".

Honestly could ABC sue her? I don’t really care about them as a company but the show costs millions of dollars and dozens of jobs from the people who work on the show. They shouldnt have ever put her on the show. It’s too far.

They new about some DV allegiations before casting her. It's not a new thing.

They dropped the charges so maybe they thought it was fine? I enjoy a messy show but this is a little too intense for the bachelorette

They didn't drop the charges. She entered a plea deal. She pled guilty to 2 charges (aggravated assault and domestic violence in the presence of children) in return for a plea of abeyance where if she stayed completely out of trouble for 3 years, the charges would be dismissed.

The DV and chair throwing incidents in the video happened in 2023 and were discussed on the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives show. They were very well known.
