| Some of these travel plans remind me of the people skiing in areas where the avalanche risk is high. Some of them are smart people and are making the choice to ski and others are not. We all have to make our own risk assessments. My tolerance for risk is very low, so I tend to avoid trips to Mexico. To each their own. |
This is not remotely the same thing. It's like saying "Vail is dangerous because certain ski areas in Maine, Virginia and Utah are avalanche risks".
Your risk assessment abilities are also deeply flawed. |
| Why the compulsion to go to Mexico? People act like there is nowhere else to travel. So bizarre. |
Because you can get luxury resorts for much less than other places. |
Why the compulsion to go anywhere? Maybe because different places have special things to offer travelers who seek diversified experieices?
Actually, no. Not bizarre. |
Then maybe it isn’t true luxury? |
What’s diverse about going to Mexico over and over again? |
I go because the food, history, art, and architecture are amazing and unique. Nothing to do with luxury resorts. |
This question sounds like your understanding of Mexico is as homogeneous never-changing thing, something you can experience completely by visiting specific areas 2 or 3 times for a week, never needing to return. |
DP It's obvious here there are people who have been to Mexico, and people who have been to All-Inclusive resorts surrounded by Mexico. |
I’m just pushing back on the notion that people who vacation places other than Mexico are somehow boring and unadventurous. |
Love Todos Santos, but would not go now. |
Actually I only go there with them. |
Ok, Karen. Clearly this is a you issue, and your Colombian friends are as paranoid as you. |
| The CIA helped target the guy they killed. Kinda uncomfy for American tourists? Also in the newspaper map of cartels even Cancun is home to 2. |
