Tons of CS majors work for Goldman or McKinsey or hedge funds. Like 50% of CS and engineering majors at top schools go these routes. It’s odd that people claim the sky is falling if all CS majors don’t work directly in CS…yet less than 5% of English or History majors ever work as Historians or English professors or Book editors or anything directly in their field of study. |
Where does it say the hierarchy has flipped, which is the main point of your post ? Are you coping or just lack of cognitive ability. |
(head banging on wall). Click on the link. |
DP, but a director level job (which requires years of experience) is paying at 750k while new graduates are making 800k as a quant researcher and 1 million plus as an AI researcher. Where is the trend flip? |
Excuse me? I am an asian parent. I majored in philosophy in addition to a stem. Check your racism. |
| Are we going to pretend that AI isn't affecting the humanities either? A lot of posers who couldn't write their way out of a paper bag now have Claude on their side. |
At UMD, all Computer Science majors must complete 12 credit hours of 300-400 level courses in one discipline outside of Computer Science. My kid is obtaining minors in philosophy and math. |
How’s history gonna give you more soft skills? Unless you’re talking about being brainwashed is a soft skill? |
| Don’t recently graduated CS majors have one of the highest unemployment rates? |
Same tiresome poster is back! 🤣🤣 Probably some angsty parent whose kid didn’t get into an Ivy. |
Yes, hence the creation of this thread. I hate your point? |
What’s * |
Cough...MAGA |
