Close for what exactly? Bone dry roads and some discomfort? |
Girl my 2012 subcompact can drive fine in this |
If you're careless, you can miss it. Is it worth walking carefully to avoid minor injuries? Perhaps, but it's not worth delaying school. Particularly when the people who are worried could just drive and walk slower to get a similar benefit. |
Find a different thread, troll. |
| I heard there is only 1 built in snow day. So, no, not worth it to close for tomorrow Monday. |
What do you not understand? Ice melts it will refreeze over night. Kids should not be driving and hit black ice. Little ones should not be a bus stops. ETC... Why did you have kids if you can not take care of them? |
It's 17 degrees out! It is not going to melt. How many times do folks have to explain basic physics to you? |
If we are better off safe than sorry, we should never open since that exponentially increased the risk. Keep all children at home, tightly bubble wrapped at all times. And you have a very privileged situation if the delays doesn’t matter to you. For lots of people it means missed work and significant hardship. |
We teach our kids how to drive in, walk in, and generally cope with winter weather so that they can live full lives unburdened by paranoia. |
I truly do not understand people in this region. Go walk around your neighborhood right now. There is no melt. There will be no melt tonight. It is impossible. |
Childcare can remain open? |
+1 Conditions won't change. If they were going to close, they would have already called it. |
I really hope you're not a teacher. Clearly you're not a science teacher, but anyone with a third grade education should understand why it isn't going to melt/refreeze overnight.
|
Is it physics or chemistry? Maybe physical chemistry? |
If the decision is being made based on conditions, then they'll close. What's going to be different at 9am vs 7am? But we know this isn't really about conditions. It's about giving a small number of bitter teachers the morning to sleep in since they felt entitled to it a couple Fridays ago. |
