She has no way of knowing that.
She has friends at UVA who say that getting into clubs and extracurriculars is highly competitive. The
campus is filled with Tracy Flicks who were all top of their class in high school and who expect to be #1. That’s great if you thrive in that environment, but my DD would not. She has joined lots of clubs and made friends at her school. She knows deep down that UVA would have been more difficult socially, for her personally. UVA is a great school, but not for everyone.
