Wealthy MAGA have inherited money and go to elite colleges.

This is the point right here. They will continue to send there kids to elite colleges while the idiots who are worshipping them don’t. Wealthy MAGA are making things easier for themselves.

While calling other people idiots, too rich.

Seriously.

Tons of articles about how North east SEC anpplicants are way up the last five years.

Ha ha ha … way up because those kids can’t get into the far superior academic schools in NE, mid-West and West coast. It’s hilarious you think anyone here is stupid enough to fall for the bs maga propaganda of your post. This isn’t uneducated gullible middle America here.

That is just the thing. I don't think we want to subsidize social sorting. You can summarize 90% of the function of universities with these two bullet points.

Visa Mill
Social Sorting

It's so frustrating that "Academic" prowess is so tied to "Income" at every level. Good school kindergartens to graduate schools. Not really competitive like they claim.

Trace Atkins has this one covered.

That correlation is mostly due to the fact that IQ strongly correlates with income and IQ is more than 50% heritable.

I feel sorry for that kid. I've been hiring manager for many hires and I'd roll my eyes and take a hard pass seeing something like Christendom College on a resume. And I'm not by any stretch anti-Catholic, as I'm Catholic, myself. If on the other hand it were a respectable Jesuit university like Georgetown, Boston College, Holy Cross, Loyola I'd give it a close look.

Cool that you admit to being a bigot who runs an illegal discriminatory hiring operation. Make sure hooray boss knows.

Going to a $hitty college is not a protected class. PP explicitly said she was not anti Catholic.

It’s perfectly fine to discriminate on the basis of someone being less smart.

Not smart enough to outfox the Asian & Eastern European grinders, not rich enough to donate more than the foreign money. The Jewish-American families are pissed off; it’s why Ackmann is up in arms about declining Jewish student numbers. But let’s face it - rich American kids these days dont work hard in high school. They are more consumer with social media and jetsetting.

Look at what the Trump admin is asking of these schools: they want the federal government to control who gets admitted, hired, and what is taught. Nanny State Conservatives want total control of higher education.

No, let's just continue to follow your model.

Get degrees in social justice and afro-centric studies, not be able to be employed with commensurate pay, and then gripe to the tax payers about your school debt.

The Democrat's lack of self awareness is stunning.

You are living in an imaginary world where colleges are filled with Marxists getting degrees in Woke Studies.

Some of them do, especially the older, well-established owner/operators.

Unfortunately, a lot of the mom and pop electricians and plumbers are being consolidated into larger corporations staffed by guys making $15-20/hour.

Unless you're a professional lineman, you really have to own your own business to make a lot of money.

The only qualification that matters to MAGA is loyalty to Trump. Isn't the current head of the Department of Education the Linda McMahon of Worldwide Wrestling Entertainment fame?

Also if you are super conservative and your kid got into an Ivy League school will you refuse to let them go?

Not super conservative, but spouse and I have questioned if we would PAY for tuition to a place that is hostile to our beliefs. Obviously we cannot stop our kids from going.

To be blunt, our oldest wants to go to conservative schools of his own volition, our middle one is the only one to likely be Ivy material and he is perhaps our most conservative kid. He doesn’t think Notre Dame is Catholic enough. Our youngest loves SEC culture. So we’ll see.

And that "qualification" is completely meaningless outside of the MAGA bubble.

Then they get upset that intelligent and educated people who don't own their business and are on essentially fixed salaries whose bosses will gladly allocate gains from any increased productivity as their own, find ways to get the same thing done with less effort. Like WFH or putting in fewer hours.

I feel like we should more or less eliminate W-2's, everyone is an independent business owner.

MAGAs live in an imaginary world where they are persecuted for being white, empathy is a sin, and Trump is competent. Pure delusion all fueled by selfishness, bigotry, and hate. I hope they do stay away from all decent colleges, not just Ivies. I don't want my kids subjected to next generation cult members spreading their malignant fictions and bile.
