1. McLean / Great Falls

2. N Arlington / Old Town / *waterfront houses in MtVernon (must be waterfront)

3. Middleburg / Delaplane / The Plains / *waterfront houses in Mason Neck (must be waterfront)

4. Vienna/Del Ray/Rosemont/Belle Haven/FCC

5. Oakton / Fort Hunt

6. Fairfax Station / Clifton / Fairfax City / Reston / South Arlington

7. Burke / West Springfield / Lorton / Leesburg / By the water but not waterfront Mount Vernon

8. Ashburn / Chantilly / Centreville / Franconia-Kingstowne

Almost sh*t tier: Springfield/Sterling/Herndon/Annandale/Mount Vernon North of Richmond hwy/Groveton
Sh*t tier: Woodbridge / Dumfries / Manassas

Least diverse to most diverse. Got it.

McLean: 66% white
Great Falls: 66% white
Alexandria: 60% white
Arlington: 58% white

Ashburn: 60% white
Burke: 59% white

It's more about income than race. Fewer minorities in the boonies. Keep trying to push your false narrative, though.

The rankings on this list are definitely factoring in race. They are singling out neighborhoods versus actual cities. People have single out Springfield to make it clear it’s only West Springfield. They’ve singled out Alexandria to be only Old town or Del ray, they’ve singled out falls church as well. It’s racist. It’s not about income at all. This is the white version of the list. I am a high earner and would never live in McLean or Great Falls or even Vienna. I wish you guys would stop sugar coating and just say you like these areas because they are whiter.

+1. They'd never admit that last part. We're high earners too and would NEVER.

And as far as prestige, The Plains and Middleburg >>>> McLean and Great Falls.

Yes hunt country Va is beautiful but that is not Northern Va

+1

You don't have to warn us to keep clear from uneducated racists.

lol right? My thoughts also.

Half $1 million is really not that much difference. Burke and Fairfax are just more suburban and less dense and further out. Different lifestyles for sure as I do prefer old town.

Are you stating that there is no appreciable difference between a $600,000 house and a $1.1 million dollar house?

Yes..for those of us that bought our primary home below our means..😁.. I saved the difference and invested it in a beach house in Rehoboth 18 yrs ago. Paid off nicely.

Rehobeth is trashy.

Prestige? Wow, people you are talking about NOVA here. That is like looking through a pile of crap trying to find a pice that stinks the least.

52% White here in Mount Vernon not on the waterfront. We scored pretty low.

I’d be willing the bet that Mt Vernon south of Rt1 is the whitest place in the DMV. I’d be willing to bet even more that Mt Vernon south of my Vernon memorial highway is the whitest place in the DMV. Zero minorities and more trump flags than any other neighborhood I have seen in NoVa.

Then you go across rt1 and plenty of monorities. Mt Vernon is the most segregated, oddest place around here. Gorgeous, multi million dollar waterfront homes surrounded by beautiful neighborhoods on one hand, and literal trailer parks and poverty just across the highway from them.

Rehobeth is trashy.

People, when you are slinging insults and you make obvious grammar and spelling mistakes you are actually the one who comes across as trashy/uneducated/insert other insult.

Tier 1:
1. McLean
2. Great Falls (esp Langley)
3. Old Town Alexandria
4. Arlington (esp North Arlington)
5. Vienna
6. Falls Church (city)
7. Oakton

Tier 1 homes cost slightly less as the bathrooms do not require exhaust fans.

I don't understand why you have Arlington in its entirety vs just signaling out OT of Alexandria. Arlington County is huge, and has plenty of sketch and ugly areas. Plenty. It should be North Arlington as 4.

I was waiting for someone to say this. South Arlington should be in Tier 4.

Why? South Arlington is very charming.

South Arlington is basically the Silver Spring of NoVa. Lower mid-tier territory with a bit of charm and a lot of problems.

This ranking is about general affluence. South Arlington is far more expensive than Silver Springs.

Get out, South Arlington is cruddy run-down apartments along Columbia Pike, crime at Pentagon City, and a lousy high school.

I get it, but it’s still more wealthier than you can afford and that’s the beauty of it all.

No, it’s not “more wealthier” (snicker). Live in a more nicer place than SARL.

I love it when someone tries to critique another person's grammar and they step in dog shit.

Fort Hunt through Mason Neck east of Route 1 is the whitest part of Fairfax County. It is odd because all of the residents have to go out to route 1 and encounter poverty.

People saying it's about race are crazy. The wealthiest areas have lots of asian people (minority!!!!!!)

Most buyers of $2.5m homes are asian or Indian, more particularly in choice Fairfax County locations - to include Mclean, GF, Oakton, Vienna and FCC, Arlington to a much lesser degree. Persians/Arabic well do do perfer GF or Mclean. In the newer neighborhoods, up to 90% of households are of asian/Indian descent.

There is a weird stereotype that people want to be in the suburbs to escape diversity. And all I can think is that those people have never actually visited a DC suburb.

Pretty accurate. Good schools correlate with property values which drives wealthy Asians to come. But they prefer bigger houses/more land so not Bethesda or Chevy Chase generally speaking.
