Tier 1:
1. McLean 2. Great Falls (esp Langley) 3. Old Town Alexandria 4. Arlington (esp North Arlington) 5. Vienna 6. Falls Church (city) 7. Oakton Tier 2: 8. Fairfax Station 9. Clifton 10. Reston 11. Alexandria outside of formal borders/old town 12. Burke 13. Lorton 14. Ashburn 15. Chantilly 16. Annandale Tier 3: 17. Herndon 18. Centreville 19. Springfield 20. Manassas 21. Leesburg 22. City of Fairfax Tier 4: 23. Woodbridge 24. Dale City 25. Manassas Park 26. Sterling 27. Franconia-Kingstowne Do you think this is generally correct? |
Who is the audience judging prestige here? Other people in McLean? |
no |
Generally correct though I would split up Reston into Reston Town Center area and the rest of Reston and have the latter in tier 1. Also I would break out Tysons as its own area and put it into Tier 1 as well. RTC below Oakton and Tysons below Falls Church. |
No way City of Fairfax is below Lorain, Chantilly, Burke etc. |
Lorton |
How about West Falls Church? |
I could definitely see it being lower than Chantilly and possibly Burke. There are lots of town houses and apartments there, which makes it seem more accessible and less exclusive. |
You can't compare Arlington or Alexandria to places further out.
Aside from the above two places, it's Great Falls #1, McLean #2, and after that, it's about how close you live to McLean. So next are Vienna and Falls Church, like a tie for #3. Then Oakton and close-in Fairfax. After that you're mostly splitting hairs. |
I think right below Oakton. |
Why not? |
I don't think Annandale and Lorton belong in the same tier as Clifton. I also think Springfield should be divided between Central Springfield, West Springfield, and North Springfield. It's a big area and West Springfield is much more like Burke. |
Mount Vernon didn't even make the cut. |
Alexandria (outside of Old Town) is definitely not the higher than Burke. You are talking about the areas off Route 1 going south, right? |
![]() ![]() ![]() Who the hell would ever pick some Toll Brothers POS in some HOA in Burke over Del Ray? You people are literally clowns. Birke is where brown couches go to die. |
