So is Florida, what’s your f’ing point? |
Del Ray man, you’re a ridiculous opportunist. Your posts are so recognizable that it’s clear you’ve taken both incredibly racist positions but then seized the mantel of the “brown” people whenever it suits your agenda of promoting your neighborhood. Get a job. |
Pretty rich for a guy who spends literally hours every single week trying to convince..... anonymous people on the internet...... that the hottest neighborhood is NOVA.... isn't the hottest? Like, did your wife leave you for some dude in Del Ray? You are a weird dude. |
??? That’s not me. Apparently multiple people are on to you. Pot, kettle my friend. You are the weird king. |
In fact, my zip code, 22309 https://www.city-data.com/zips/22309.html |
This whole thread on prestige being important is so strange. The thing that matters most is choosing a place that works for you . For instance, the people who live in Clifton love their country roads, quiet suburbs, big yards and small town feel. They would not like Arlington... and vice versa, the people in Arlington love the small yards, major shopping and dining options and the city feel and would go stir crazy in Clifton. |
you miss the point. not the op, but there is "prestige" attached to everything from cars, colleges, careers, etc, etc. ZIP codes are not exempt. yes...many don't care but there is (sadly) a prestige factor to most everything. |
Different poster. Agreed but people who have $ like different things. Some of us are seeking larger properties, quiet and a more community feel. Which is why I live in Great Falls. If I wanted walkability, I'd live in Georgetown over Alexandria or Arlington (which I did a few years back). This need for ranking of very different places and preferences is clearly by the people that can afford some places and not others. |
My point is that you obviously don't understand the effect historic segregation lines continue to have on Northern VA real estate dynamics. Del Ray will never be valued the way communities north of Rte 50 are because regardless of county, neighborhoods South of 50 are more heavily populated with minorities--initially blacks and later other immigrant groups. This has always makes the schools less desirable to white buyers. Del Ray can't escape its poor geographic position. |
Totally. Sterling is sooo much nicer than Del Ray. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
NoVa is uniformly awful. Maze of highways with no charm. Why anyone cares about "prestige" there is a mystery. |
