Yet, Trump loves his “illegals.” His businesses wouldn’t run without them. He wouldn’t be as rich as he was without them. He would have used e-verify if he cared about this issue, at all. But he quietly swept it under the rug because only a small fraction of his companies used it. Let’s focus on the source of the problem, greedy GOP multi-millionaire and billionaire business owners, instead of just faulting one party. The GOP say one thing, then do another, aside from a few photo ops. |
the supreme court had affirmed that just being in the country illegally was NOT a crime. So what the democrats were saying was, these people are being employed (mostly by right wing business owners) and are otherwise supporting our economy and committing crimes at lower rates than natural born Americans, so what is the harm? If someone here illegally commits crimes, they get deported and Biden and Obama deported them - and did it in a legal manner and at rates surpassing what Trump did in his first term and legally, which Trump is not doing now. People here illegally contributed hundreds of billions of dollars to the US economy and the ones on payroll contribute to social security and medicare without being eligible to realize those benefits later in life. So ultimately, they are accretive to our society. |
Ah more willful ignorance. If it were the courts, we would have to prove harm. EG we would have to have standing. They hit us with a stick or something. In this case the harm is just general overcrowding and competition for reduced resources. EG schools, pools, welfare and jobs. Politically we don't have to prove they harmed us directly, to not want them here. |
talk about willful ignorance... people here illegally are 1) not using our public pools 2) not using welfare and 3) taking jobs no one else wants |
Yes what your approach is, is willful ignorance. What's your point? |
He doesn't want to deport all of them. He wants to make a big show of cruelty towards them so they stay afraid. A fearful population of workers that won't complain about wage theft is easier to exploit. |
My approach? I am not a government employee charged with having an approach. that said, we have a constitution and I expect the people who are charged with these decisions to follow it. The GOP and particularly Trump, are not. |
What more could she have done? She voted for Harris and campaigned for Harris in a swing state. That does not sound like a stupid person to me. That said I agree with OP. I think Trump is awful and I blame the Democratic Party for leaning so far left that they lost the middle and even middle right who would have voted for Harris. |
Trump is the only president who can cut deficit spending and finally reduce national debt.
We are paying almost one trillion dollars only in interest every single year and our country is not sustainable without meaningful cuts to spending and no politician is up to the job. Trump is willing to tak a bullet to accomplish such cuts even in the facw of swamp creatures striking back to continue the decades long grift. |
What cuts has Trump made so far that are significantly reducing the debt? Federal salaries make up 5% of the budget, so firing 20% of all feds would save 1%. If Trump really wanted to reduce the debt he'd have to increase revenue and/or make cuts to Medicare/Medicaid/Social Security. Instead he's letting DOGE run wild bragging about "cutting" money that has already been spent, getting the amounts completely wrong (8 billion vs 8 million) and making actual cuts that will cost more than they save (IRS, for example). |

They didn't lean so far left. Their leadership is generally left of center, normal liberals, and not progressives. You are buying into the BS if you think Biden, Harris, Schumer and Jeffries are "so far left" - they are not Bernie, and Bernie and his flank are not the leadership of the party, though Trump is certainly making AOC look damned good right now. |
Like I said before: you won't be happy until transgender folks are lined up against a wall and shot dead. The Democrats will never appeal to you because your ultimate preferred outcome is violence. |
What Trump is doing is COSTING the taxpayers more money than any purported savings. |
And re-building what he destructs will cost more later. It’s all a giant scam for Elon to access our information for his own use, retaliate against departments that regulate him, and get contracts he doesn’t deserve. |
