Federal salaries make up 5% of the budget, so firing 20% of all feds would save 1%. If Trump really wanted to reduce the debt he'd have to increase revenue and/or make cuts to Medicare/Medicaid/Social Security. Instead he's letting DOGE run wild bragging about "cutting" money that has already been spent, getting the amounts completely wrong (8 billion vs 8 million) and making actual cuts that will cost more than they save (IRS, for example).[/quote]
