DP. So now a mom speaking to the SB is an "operation"? Do you even hear yourself? |
So you're afraid that if your kids hear from a teacher that transgender people exist, they will change their gender? |
+1 |
I have a fifth grader. He already knows about trans kids existing. Zero concerns for him becoming trans. But lots of concerns that avoiding simply acknowledging trans kids existence when your kids WILL encounter it at some point will lead to bullying. Far more worried about bullying than grooming based on simply acknowledging that this exists. Bullying is the major concern. |

The issue is that schools are attempting to teach and normalize what is, in reality, a fringe scenario. There might be one gay couple or a handful of LGBTQ individuals in a given school, but the curriculum often presents it as though it’s widespread and ubiquitous. This creates a misleading impression for children—making them believe that being gay or transgender is far more common than it actually is.
Recent surveys highlight this effect. A 2021 Gallup poll found that while only about 7.2% of U.S. adults identify as LGBTQ, younger generations—especially Gen Z—believe the percentage is much higher. In fact, a 2023 YouGov poll revealed that many young people estimate that around 30–40% of the population is gay or transgender. This stark overestimation isn’t accidental—it reflects the success of an agenda that seeks to normalize and promote these identities beyond their actual prevalence in society. When kids are constantly exposed to messaging that overrepresents LGBTQ identities, it begins to shape their perception of what is “normal.” That’s the real issue—this isn’t just about representation; it’s about redefinition. |
WE HATE LYING POS REPUBLICANS USING OUR SCHOOLS AS POLITICAL FODDER. |
| Good for the mom in the video for speaking up! |
Great! Then the proposed curriculum as written is not a change! |
DP. You have posted the same thing over and over. You have a 5th grader. He knows about trans people. Bullying. Bullying. Bullying. WE GET IT. |
For that part (family configuration), no it isn't. Which is why we're not talking about that. |
Gross. |
Did they poll every single parent? How many didn't respond. I'm guessing this "majority" is all the MAGAs who are so in a tizzy about this. They are motivated, I'll give them that. Nothing in the post you quoted expresses "crazy hate". It is an accurate observation that MAGA tend to be very exclusionary and hateful towards people who aren't like them. And they like to project. MAGA loooooove to project all their own malfeasance onto others. Musk picked this lady because she is attractive. He probably has a thing for her. |
Who cares? Honestly? Learning about gay people does not turn people gay. I have two kids and do not care. Zero concerns. |
"Sex assigned at birth" is not real. It is made up quackery. Sex is not "assigned" Sex is in your chromosones, inside of every cell in your body, no matter how you dress or how you feel. Teach accurate science. Not made up silliness. |
Agree with earlier PP who said they should just teach that it's normal to feel awkward with the changes. The gender identity thing is not needed in fifth grade. It should be about physical changes and the emotions that go with them. Bringing in the gender dysphoria is a step too far and gives the kids more to worry about. If a child is having gender confusion, it is not going to be solved in a n FLE class. If the topic comes up, just teach that all should be treated with respect. |
