What cause of action will you assert?

You can speak to an attorney if you need to know.

No let's get this out there so the community can ban together and get change. Negligent infliction of emotional distress? Could class action be pursued?

It's nice to see that not everyone on here is a lawyer.

No, there is no claim against a school system for instituting a lockdown when there is a report of a gun in school. Are you for effin' real?

Yeah this people are all ridiculous and make me laugh. Like what the hell are you suing for? Because the school tried to keep your student safe — even if some students left the campus when the lockdown was announced?

No, for creating an unsafe environment re: tolerance of violence and repeat offenders. Not for calling the lockdown

Thank God the boy's mom collaborated and was able to convince her son to turn himself in. I'm sure his father is absent in his life, which is why he's acting out by showing off a stupid airsoft gun at school for attention.

So a juvenile? What exactly is the punishment according to Student code of conduct for this offense?

Do you know students were heard talking about preparing a will in class after the lockdown? What the f kind of society is this?

Students do not have a safe place to learn. and it is their right to receive that.

Teachers and staff do not have a safe place to work and they have a right to a workplace.

Do not send your kid to school, or so not go into work if you work for mcps until MCPS makes it right. ASAP. Now.

you are ridiculous. Why not suggest locking up the parents of the lost children for not doing their job?

you all need to chill out. Instead of screaming from the internet, be a parent. Talk to your kids. Find out what families in the community need help. Go and actually help them. Don’t just send in your old pantry items for the school pantry and think you have done your part. Don’t just donate the the school foundation and think you can climb up your soapbox. Tired of these yapping parents crying from the safety of their computers.

There wouldn't be a school if it wasn't for "those" parents. Fool

Do you mean McPS style by putting a 70-something-year-old to monitor a high traffic doorway AND asking same person to help students with their writing? Why? Just because it checks a box for MCPs to say they have a living breathing adult with a pulse as one of their security people? Why the F isn't Taylor et al on the ground assessing each and every one of the doors at each and every one of the MCP high schools? Security was what families said is the # 1 concern. Do your job new dude or leave your post.

Well, to be fair, what you're pointing out is really Chief Jones's job. But if Jones isn't doing it, Dr. Taylor should roll up his sleeves and make sure it's done.

Ok, Sue Taylor, get your husband to do his job, he is over Chief Jones

Or required them to learn virtually for the remainder of their public education. Choices have consequences.

Thought they said student was in police custody and that it is under police investigation?

Okay, and then what? Student gets released and gets to come back to that school? This scenario could be at any school btw.

+1. What exactly were the consequences this time?

Enough with the man hating. Who knows if Dad was involved or not but plenty of kids are violent with dad's involved.
