But…but…they wanted to use that for vacaaaaaations, not their kiiiiiiiids. |
Well, it hasn’t changed for those who have RTO, so they had better maje a childcare plan for the week now. Sweetheart. |
Tough forecast with the snow starting later. Right now it SEEMS like the schools will be ok for a full day Tuesday, but with cancellation of after school activities. that is based on the latest forecasts that show the snow moving in to the immediate area between 11 am-3 pm with little to no accumulation, and accumulating snow not starting until after dark. That would point to cancellations Wednesday and a 2 hour delay or cancellation Thursday, depending on road conditions. https://www.washingtonpost.com/weather/2025/02/09/dc-area-snow-forecast-timeline-map/
“The timing of the storm has implications for schools on Tuesday. Snow may not begin until the afternoon in parts of the region, and even then, it may not stick at first because of temperatures near or above freezing. Some schools may be able to hold classes Tuesday or consider an early dismissal. The most snow accumulation will probably occur Tuesday night into early Wednesday, so Wednesday will probably have more school closings. Thursday could be another day off, given the possible additional frozen precipitation Wednesday night.“ |
Complete waste of time. If you were a teacher you would know that students don't do anything that's not graded. It's hard enough to get them to do things for a grade. |
I’m not seeing how your WFH benefits society more than RTO? You’ll survive. Plenty of us have been doing it for years. We are proof that it can be done. You’ll be okay. |
Do you also believe women should still hand-wash dishes and clothes because that's how your great grandmother did it? |
+1 exactly. Prioritize your kids, not your effing job. |
Shut up about RTO/WFH
This is about the upcoming storm |
January 7, 2020. Looks like they called it around 9:40am. https://www.facebook.com/fcpsva/posts/10158026941747500/ https://content.govdelivery.com/accounts/VAEDUFCPS/bulletins/274de96 |
Accuweather has the snow starting 10am Tuesday. |
Weather.com now shows 2 pm. |
As I said pages ago, the track of this storm has shifted a hunch and it’s very clear they don’t know exactly when it’ll start or how much will actually accumulate because of the temperatures. The ranges are seriously like 3-9, with snow starting anywhere from 11-4. It’s impossible for schools to call this one in a way that makes everyone happy . |
What are you talking about? Of course school after SOLs counts. My kids' teachers have always continued teaching actual curriculum until the very end of the year. Your sweeping generalizations are a sign of either extreme immaturity, low ability, or mental illness. You might want to consider getting some help. |
