4 Day weekend?

No buses = no school. It’s simple science.

Well yeah.

It was only yesterday they were told they would unalive grandma if they went to school or hung out with their friends, and later that they would unalive grandma if they didn't sit in school all day wearing an ill-fitting paper mask.

Anxiety on 100.

The “I went to school when it was -10 outside” people…you likely lived in places that had the ability to plug busses into blocks or parked in a depot that was semi-enclosed. Fairfax does not have blocks to plug into. The brakes on our busses do not warm up easily in these temps.

If there's a delay on Tuesday, it won't be about coddling the kids - it'll be because they need time to get the busses going, and they need busses to get kids to school.

The discussion of 2-hr delays - which are warranted in extreme cold - is another reason middle school start times should be later. Let's not have half-asleep kids out at 6AM in the dark slipping on ice. We can do better...pay the money for more buses or whatever it takes to have school at a healthier start time (and when it's at least light out).

When will we find out about any delay?

Temps are single digits. They have delayed due to this in the past. It’s not safe.

67,000 people at the Eagles game would disagree with you. They’re not dead yet and they’ve been there for hours

Well dumpy trumpy would disagree with you

It's not about buses. It's about drivers. We can buy buses. We can't find drivers.

The projected lows for Tuesday-Thursday are now 12-15° which is cold but not as dangerous as the 2-4° peojections. I would be surprised if they have even a delay this week.

I wouldn't

My kids' basketball games were cancelled today and it didn't start snowing until after 1pm. Ridiculous, everyone is so freaking paranoid here.

Almost 5 years ago was “yesterday”? You’ve got problems, troll.

My kids' activities were cancelled even though they were before noon.

My guess is FCPS sent out an email canceling the entire day Sunday and then backtracked with their official announcement of noon.

I much preferred morning-of calls of the past.
