It was in a sealed envelope with our name on it. Looked official, not a flyer |
Why do you keep repeating how you feel about this. It’s completely irrelevant. It’s against the law. That is the only thing that matters. Churches absolutely can’t enter a school and spew their shit. You are insane. Students can have a prayer group if they organize it themselves but that’s an entirely different thing. |
Even more egregious. |
The most “liberal” people are the most close-minded. You think you’re so open and accepting and non judgmental but only towards those who share your same values and beliefs.
As I learned in a long ago Bible study, don’t be so open-minded that your brain falls out. I’m praying for you, OP - that you find peace and serenity and that your heart won’t be troubled by those of us who truly care about our fellow man and feel that our world needs kindness and compassion. I’m a trauma survivor and can tell you that if things like this bother you to this extent, you really need to step back and reevaluate your mental health. This isn’t the hill to die on, OP. |
🤮🤮🤮🤮to all of this. Kind and compassionate thing is to not burden your fellow man with your fantasies. |
I’d like to invite you to my house for a two hour presentation on why you should cover to Buddhism. Let’s see how open minded you are. Better yet, can I come to your office and do it there? |
What was the specific verse? A lot of weird stuff in the Bible |
+1. As a person whose family was severely harmed by evangelicals, I don't care what the hell anyone believes but keep it the hell to yourself. We don't need to breed any more indoctrination, and that is what they are doing regardless of how "nice" they seem. |
I see from these comments that religious conservatives can’t stop themselves from being weirdos everywhere, even on anonymous internet forums. |
Nothing illegal about it. If so, cite a specific law or statute. |
Already been done uptnread. Learn how to read. Or do you want me to cram it down your throat like you do with your religion? |
Every English speaking person in the world should be familiar with at least some of the King James Bible. It is as central to our language and culture as Shakespeare's works. |
Cool story bro. Plenty of churches that teach it for all who are interested. |
Wait till Trump gets elected and SCOTUS says it's ok to hang 10 Commandments in classrooms cuz kids can not look. |
I asked for this, as well. Show us the law. The only thing I’ve seen posted is this: https://www2.ed.gov/policy/gen/guid/religionandschools/prayer_guidance.html And the only relevant clause I could find is this: “Schools may impose the same reasonable time, place, or manner restrictions on distribution of religious literature as they do on non-school literature generally, but they may not target religious literature for more permissive or more restrictive regulation.” I’ve received religious material in my mailbox at work. I’ve also received promotional material from area businesses. If one is allowed, apparently so is the other. And I just throw it all in the recycling bin. It’s right next to the mailboxes for a reason. |
