Too bad the majority proved you wrong. He is a unicorn and we don’t deserve him |

What a silly take. Walz is a politician, not some amazingly well-adjusted man. The whole concept of most white men (and only white men!) struggling to figure out who they are isn't a thing.
OP's post reads like propaganda that didn't land. |

Walz is a unicorn in the sense that he’s HIGHLY unusual. That’s not something we should look for in a candidate.
He’s been to China more times than the average Washingtonian has been to Ocean City, MD. That is NOT a normal thing. |
And he's a man & politician who has made mistakes, acknowledged them, and CORRECTED them. Examples - 1) DUI (decades ago), took responsibility, made life changes, now sober 2) Legal gun owner, was very pro-gun rights. Changed his stats, to still be protective of hunting and gun owning, while he stop accepting endorsements from NRA, and became an advocate for gun control around background checks, high capacity magazines, anti semi automatic weapons for general public. He listens, and is willing to compromise and look for the best solution for everyone. He's not a divider. I give him unicorn status, especially coming from the Midwest. - fellow Nebraskan, who has lived in MoCo for her adult life. |
The heart of the country's problem |
I don't want Fox, but clearly he's a unicorn. Over half the population won't vote for a woman, let alone be her #2. And don't @me about the last two women candidates not being fit for office. Republicans wouldn't even put Nikki Haley on the ballot. |
| This might be the most telling thread on DCUM of the 2024 election, starting with the original post, which I assume is from a plant trying to generate earned media. It starts with the strawman that white men are "in trouble" and Tim Walz is "special", implying that he's the odd non-problematic white man who doesn't live in an elite city / suburb. It then devolves into pablum praising him as being "the unusual sensitive guy from the Midwest" or some drivel like that or conservative trolls trashing him for either his lack of masculinity or fake hunting PR stunts. The reality is that Tim Walz is a politician who has cooperated with the DNC to finally get his ticket punched; he did what he was told. He has few real beliefs, like most politicians, and he showed during this cycle that he can't think on his feet; he's not very smart. He was a lousy pick, chosen for football coach vibes and because Josh Shapiro "would have lost the party Dearborn, Michigan" (if you can't decode that, bless your heart.) He was a lousy VP on a lousy ticket. Democrats need to stop looking for "unicorns" and start running the smartest and most articulate / dynamic candidates. More Bill Clinton / Obama, less Tim Walz. |
Muslim here who very much wanted Shapiro as VP because he is dynamic, not some goofy teacher - and no I don't care what Dearborn says about it, we have to think about what we need in America. But reality is Shapiro was not going to take the job as he was not going to be second fiddle, not just because he wouldn't be second fiddle to Kamala because I believe he wouldn't want to be second to anyone. He knows how dynamic he is. And on the flip side I think Kamala was threatened by someone as dynamic as Shapiro eclipsing her, if they had won he'd be in a primary in 2028 etc. Walz was the safe loser who announced in his interview that he was happy to be second fiddle and didn't even want the top job and would never run for it. She paid the price for that decision. Not to say the VP pick was all there was to it but Josh would have delivered Pa and likely would have connected much better with the bro crowd just being a younger dynamic guy. And yes we need to find Clinton and Obama 2.0 - Shapiro is one of them but there must be others too. |
| No. I think he’s a poser. And a fool. |
Republicans put Sarah Palin on the ballot. |
| Walz is special in that he might be the biggest a-hole on the planet, all races considered. |
