Why Snoop Dogg?

Wake up it's not 1990 anymore.

I'm his age-and if you had told me 30 years ago that Snoop would be at the Olympics watching dressage with Martha Stewart, and Flavor Flav would be sponsoring the women's water polo team... I would have thought you were really high LOL! Didn't have this on my bingo card (but it's fun!)

+1

I'd rather skip Martha Stewart though.

I've never listened to Snoop or watched Martha Stewart. I know, I know. Why am I on an entertainment forum? LOL Just wanted to say that Snoop IS appealing. I don't know anything about his background, but he's an entertaining guy with a lot of charisma.

This is the element people are missing. I feel like the people questioning his involvement haven't been paying a lot of attention to pop culture in the last few years. Snoop got invited because of his hilarious viral videos doing sports commentary. He and Martha Stewart have had a whole thing together on social media for years. They are very funny together.

Leslie Jones shared sports commentary on Twitter and was asked to broadcast -- in the past at least. I just read her memoir, and she talked about it in there. I think NBC asked her to stop posting about the Olympics -- maybe because they couldn't make money from her doing that on Twitter?

I was fortunate enough to meet him twice. He is nice. First time was 1993 when he just was a rapper who did a single on a Dr. Dre album but yet to release his own album.

It was at Dockers Happy Hour in the Hamptons walking distance from MTVs beach house from their Summer 1993 MTB beach house show. We saw him and we said Hi Calvin, we knew his real name. Dont laugh me and my white friend loved rap back them NWA, Public Enemy, Dr. Dre so we knew him. He was by himself we had a beer and chatted 20 minutes. We joked where is your crew? He was like laughing so hard, in the Hamptons what from rich middle aged white folk. But luck would have it I was in LA on a business trip in 2003 and someone was handing out tickets to a brand new talk show for someone named Jimmy Kimmel I never heard of. I go by myself and Snoop Dog was actually co-hosting first week, be no clue that show would work, audience was small and they had an open bar at end for everyone including audience. I got to talk to Snoop again. He actually laughed when I told him I am one of those White Boys from the Hamptons you were hanging out with back in 1993. He laughed pretty hard. Dont know if he remembered, but at least pretended. He joke you must be some rich white boy if I meet you in the Hamptons and LA. It was just luck

But he is fun and nice in real life. He actually goes to Hamptons his friend Martha has a house

He needs a job.
NBC has him on new season of Voice, now Olympics. Please don't bring him in for election season, NBC!
Yes, he does.

He also has songs of affirmations for kids.

His concert at the end of the Olympics was terrible and with that twerking, he got bad PR on that.

Well Martha is an ex-con, and Snoop was charged with murder at one point. So, this call pretty much aligns with future America if Trump wins ( since he is a convicted felon 👍)

Or we could veer back to integrity, class and lawfulness? 🤔

Why is Snoop Dogg all over NBC? Why? What has he accomplished? It’s just nuts!
