Pretty much. If the CEOs and Board of Directors of hospitilaty and Big Ag and construction and landscaping companies were to go to prison - and the people hiring illegal nannies and housecleaners - lt'll stop illegal migration real fast. But that's not going to happen. If Americans - from both parties - genuinely wanted to stop migrants from crossing the border, they could do it in a heartbeat. And you do that by addressing the demand side. It's not walls or drones. It's the people hiring them. Not happening. The Biden Administration has been very stupid not addressing this. It's clearly a big issue. And not unreasonably. There are literally millions of unvetted people just walking across the border and disappearing into America. But Republicans are not better. When I hear a Republican say they're willing to put the CEO of Motel 6 or the Gap in prison, I'll pay attention. Until then.. |
they can't do it unilaterally and the GOP has not been negotiating in good faith...so... |
And that will continue to be the case because they use the issue of immigration as a political cudgel. They have absolutely no intertest in solving the problem. |
If Trump is another Hitler, wouldn’t he have disowned his daughter for marrying a Jew? |
Don't try to change the subject. Start another thread (or join any of the many existing) to debate reasonable immigration laws, which everyone I know agrees with. This thread is about orange turd mimmicking facist, Hitleresque turns of phrase. Try to keep up. |
He doesn’t have a problem with Jews. He has a problem with POC and Muslims. He’s using Hitler’s rhetoric, but no one is saying his beliefs are identical to Hitler’s. |
All polls show part of his lead over Biden has to do with a noticeable shift of "poc" voters from Biden to Turnip. Latinos in particular but even some black voters. How do you explain that? |
"negotiating in good faith" is code for the DNC isn't getting what they want. |
Inversion problem dear - it is code for the fringe right lunatics in the House pulling crazy stunts such as refusing to fund the executive government budget that was already agreed upon in bipartisan way in order to blackmail through extremist wish lists … |
Polls now are stupid because the election is almost a year away. The people who are dissatisfied now are the ones who are always dissatisfied. Biden was not their guy 4 years ago until it was a two-person race. That is likely to happen again. They aren’t going to vote for Trump. There is no momentum for Republicans or Trump. Just the usual disaffection by the disaffected. |
Trump thinks Jews care only about money and Israel, so he can buy their allegiance and silence to do whatever he wants to everyone else. He’s a simple-minded idiot and he’s wrong about that. |
No, it’s code for even if Democrats make concessions to Republican demands, the Republicans still will never vote for the final bill because they would rather exploit the problem politically. They won’t vote for anything short of a racist authoritarian police state solution. |
DP: My theory is that people are being lied to or intentionally mislead by emotional issues. It is a powerful force that is very difficult to counteract. Just look at the people in prison for Jan 6 who realize now how badly they were duped. |

Then you must be blind if you are actually watching the border. As reported in the New York Times on November 24, 2023 https://www.nytimes.com/2023/11/24/us/politics/china-migrants-us-border.html#:~:text=More%20than%2024%2C000%20came%20to,crossing%20the%20southern%20border%20illegally.: "More than 24,000 Chinese citizens have been apprehended crossing into the United States from Mexico in the past year. That is more than in the preceding 10 years combined." |
