I know a couple. My sister has never worked. Her children are in college. She doesn't volunteer anywhere. She doesn't have hobbies. She doesn't read. She doesn't have the attention span to watch a movie. I would die of boredom.

I think you would succumb to fatal jealousy before boredom.

There is so much truth to this because you would slowly become mentally ill and start ruminating.

It is clear this thread is not about people who report to an actual non wfh office each day.

Statistically, most are not

I love this for you. I pray, wish and hope that in this lifetime, I have the means to do the same one day soon.

How sad. I want more for myself and I am not raising my kids to aspire to this!

Anyone with a brain needs to be productive.

What should they produce?

Anything meaningful - you have to ask?

I want my kids to aspire to do something with their lives, not just sit around and mope or covet.

1. Read
2. Text/talk on phone with friends
3. Play piano
4. Do my art
5. Nap
6. Spa- relax and take a bath or do my nails or mask
7. Meditate
8. Cook a nice meal
9. Binge/movies

I'm not sure why any of these activities don't appeal OP?

You seem like you have some talents, PP - so not "nothing".

Because I'm disabled due to long Covid, but thanks.

Trade out the spa time for playing with dogs and training my horse and this is me! I worked like a dog for years and now I get to do this.

Why are people doing their nails when they do nothing all day. That would be the first thing I would drop!
