Hoping I will kick this cold soon and get back to my exercise routine.

Ha! OP I’m a PP and was coming to say I did pretty well but did have a granola bar and a thin mint (Girl Scout mom here). Weirdly I ate a bunch of bread before dinner, which I don’t usually do. Got to be careful I don’t replace sugar with something only a little less bad…

Wegman's brown rice crackers have no added sugars. I'm finding them handy when I want *something* but not bread to pair with hummous or cheese or vegetables.

Oatmeal with plenty of raisins, vanilla and cinnamon- getting to be a good replacement for brown sugar.

I've been known to give up added sugar for lent only to up my bread and rice consumption.

I'm doing well. I did have some golden syrup yesterday on yogurt (I'm taking antibiotics), but that was my only added sugar. This morning I skipped the golden syrup, so that was a win.

I definitely am finding I don't want the sugary items as I did before. But I'm also eliminating bread which seems to be a trigger for me - it activates that part of my brain that says SUGAR or SIMPLE CARB. I have a bag in the cabinet of opened chocolate chips - I haven't touched them. Which is full-on WOW. for me.

Glad we are all doing well!!

OP checking in mid-day. Had a good workout, did my shoulder exercises, cold is on the mend with a lingering cough.

Oatmeal with 7 g added sugar plus blueberries, pecans, and a glass of milk.

Apple with pb for snack

Leftover chicken/vegetable soup for lunch and a cheese stick

The Thin Mints have been calling me, but I've avoided them and am saving them for after dinner, which appears to be bean tacos.

I think I might be losing weight again. Ugh. It's true, everyone, we have to replace these sugary foods with calories or we are going to lose weight. I have a 20.7 BMI and am not trying to lose weight. Let's share low-sugar snack ideas:

popcorn
fruit and yogurt
nuts

leftovers.
Hummus and carrots
Carrots and PB (don't be grossed out, it is good!)
Tuna on one of those thin rice cakes with cheese on top
hardboiled eggs

Not that I'd mind losing a couple of pounds

Thanks for the ideas. Hummus sounds good.

Finished the day with 18 g added sugar. Did not feel deprived at all. Had my Thin Mints. Went to gas station and did not buy candy which was a win.

Cottage cheese is another great snack - even better with some fruit. Cheese sticks. Charcuterie, if you like that.

I also wouldn’t mind losing weight; I don’t need to, but I also don’t need to worry about replacing these sugar calories.

OP, I’m the granola poster from yesterday (two days ago?) - swapped that out for cherries and toasted sliced almonds in my yogurt! No added sugar and just as tasty. Very happy with that.

^^I also like Quest protein chips for a snack, too, and they don’t have any added sugar. They’re not cheap but the extra protein is nice. I love Pillars yogurt drinks, too, also no added sugar (a little Stevia), lots of protein.

I'm a big fan of anything with protein - fills me up a bit.

NP. Cottage cheese with some cucumbers, red bell pepper, grape tomatoes and a sprinkle of pumpkin seeds is a really tasty snack and gets some veggies in.

I wish I liked cottage cheese. It would be such a nice unsweetened protein rich dish.

Ug. I’m definitely an emotional eater. Finding that after two things happened today (nothing HORRIBLE. Just unwanted) I want to stuff my face with food.

OP here. Kept added sugar below 25 g. Had hot chocolate with 7g and Thin Mints with 9g.

Feeling at the tail end of this cold

I understand. Sorry you had a bit of a rough day. I find a nice cup of tea helps me at the end of a hard day. And it’s OK to eat a few carbs to take the edge off. I hope you get a good nights sleep and have a better day tomorrow
