Clearly you never learned science moron |
Different people have different situations. I know someone who had to abort a twin to save the other. Procedure took place right at 20w. C-section would have resulted in the death of the other twin. Instead, she managed to carry the surviving twin until 35 weeks. |

100% Pro-choice.
I have a 21 yo DD and a 15 yo DD. |
All PP's examples are very valid. I posted the VA failed legislation whch was odd because it went way beyond such instances. That was why Trans's proposed legislation was so controversial. I believe even Lt Gov Fairfax said at the time it was poorly crafted legislation. Sen Kaine was not in favor of the Tran bill. |
Uh, if your life is in *actual* danger your doctor is going to go the option that will *save your life* the quickest, which is never abortion vs delivery. Proving that anti-life people know nothing about medical abortion procedures. Of course if you just want abortion as birth control just say as much. |
DP. Actually, you are the one who needs to be educated. There are plenty of cases where termination of the pregnancy is (or would have been, in the case of Savita Halapannavar and others like her) life-saving. |
I am pretty sure you and the PP are saying the same thing. |
Yes one hopes a doctor will choose the best option to terminate a pregnancy that is endangering a woman’s life, with a D&C and a D&E being two of the options as well as inducing and c-section. PS “Abortion” is a medical term that is used to describe the premature ending of a pregnancy before viability, no matter how the embryo or fetus leaves the womb, whether by cutting the woman’s body, using a machine to suck or scrape out the contents of the uterus, or if the woman’s body expels it thru her vagina. All miscarriages are also termed abortions as well by the medical community. “Delivery” happens after the point of viability. —someone who has had 4 miscarriages including a “missed abortion” that needed to be D&C’d. . |
Np- it sounds like one of the posters is arguing that babies should all be delivered instead of aborted. That is not the same argument. |
+1 There’s a lie going around on the right that abortion is never necessary to save the life of the mother. It’s nonsense. |
The quickest procedure is never abortion vs delivery - what the hell nonsense is that gobbeldy-gook? I hope you are not a doctor because your communication skllls are non-existent. |
The PP who is proposing this seems to be saying that in an emergency, speed is of the essence and therefore cesarean section is always better than abortion. This is medically untrue. “A c-section has a higher complication rate than an indiction of labor, D & E or D & X. The complication rate is about 10%. If a pregnant person is very ill those risks are higher. A woman is more likely to die from a c-section than any abortion performed by a trained provider.”. see more on this from Dr. Jen Gunter, a well-respected OB-Gyn and reproductive health author who has actually performed abortions. https://drjengunter.com/2019/01/29/abortions-at-or-after-24-weeks-are-sometimes-needed-medically-anyone-who-says-otherwise-is-wrong/ |
I am the PP who brought up the case of Savita Halapannavar as an example. There are plenty of situations in which the woman's life is at risk if the pregnancy continues, and as another PP pointed out, c-section prior to the point of viability generally isn't the chosen option for saving the woman's life. Examples would include cases where sepsis may be likely to develop, or when a woman finds out that she has cancer and cannot undergo treatment while pregnant, or when a fetus has a condition that is incompatible with life and those carrying the pregnancy any further would also endanger the mother, etc. But I agree that other PP is trying to push the ultra "pro-life"talking point that abortions are never medically necessary to save a woman's life, because there's always c-section. What an uneducated pile of cr@p. I had an ectopic that was caught early. Thank God for methotrexate. Not only did it save my life, my fertility was preserved and I didn't need to undergo a surgical procedure. |
No, there are many cases where abortion would be much safer than delivery. Why do you think a c section is safer than an abortion? You sound very ignorant. |
It's not just how they sound. Ignorance is a lifestyle choice for some people. |
