| Infections always increase when vaccines are still used. Guess you haven’t gotten all the weekly emails from fcps about all the cases of chicken pox. |
I don't understand your point. |
+1. People that say things like "do your part" are just enjoying the new world where expectations a so low. 20 extra sick days a year......no questions asked. |

Today I got an email from our high school about an outbreak in my child's class. I have 3 at that school in 7 classes each so why bother sending it if you're not going to be specific?
And no I'm not going to make them mask or test them "as soon as possible." |
Why won't they mask given that they have spread so close to them? |
Yeah, screw u teacher’s mother who lives with her and the teacher’s aid with a kidney transplant. We’re done thinking about you. Geezus, you people are sick. Be responsible adults. |
She thinks she can stop being a responsible member of the community because she’s tired of thinking about other people. Klassy. |
How much longer do you expect people to test for Covid any time they have a symptom. The fact is for most, it’s not deadly. The people you mention above are at risk of severe illness from all types of viruses. Why aren’t we testing for those illness daily too? |
|
Because mass media didn’t tell us to be scared of those viruses/infections or shame others for not crippling their lives to accommodate those vulnerable to them.
Respond to the constant drumbeat of whatever is the current thing! |
| Who’s going to see Top Gun?! |
I got one this week from our high school as well. I was working I wouldn’t know which of my 2 it was but it had the child’s name and what class period. |
As a teacher with a parent in cancer treatment, I don’t care if they test or not. I assume I am exposed every single day. It’s important that I am not around my parent if I am sick. Being around sick kids is part of being a teacher and no, I’m not teaching in a mask. I have been a lot sicker and so have my own kids for regular colds this spring than we were with covid. My parents also had covid and their symptoms were mild. |
Well lucky for your mother, she doesn’t live with you. For a teacher, your reading and critical thinking skills are disappointing. |
My cancer patient mother (who lived with us) got pneumonia from a common cold pre-Covid. And there was no vaccine for that cold! It’s unfortunate that there is yet another virus in circulation, but sickness is a part of life and the vaccines work very well. They largely even work for people who are immunocompromised (I.e., cancer patients). You can’t expect people to alter their lives indefinitely for what is effectively a cold for most people now. |
| Our private has had some cases here and there throughout the pandemic, but our first real "outbreak" with multiple cases came last week, though it's not yet obvious/certain that school was the vector for these (vs. other community/family transmission) since most kids are continuing to test negative, even those who likely had close contact during the infectious period. |
