| The fcps website says April 4-5. We haven’t heard otherwise but I am hoping tomorrow. Who is saying it will be tomorrow? Is it speculation or do we have insider intel? |
Thank you — didn’t realize you were staff on the other thread message. Appreciate it! |
People are claiming insider information, but this is an anonymous board where some have already claimed to have their results too. DC's school just scheduled an informational meeting for Friday morning for parents to get information about staying local or going to the center. I don't think they would do it then if they thought we'd get results tomorrow evening and possibly have freshly upset parents at the meeting asking about the appeal process or complaining their kid didn't get in. Friday is a staff day, which would make Friday evening more on par with their trend of doing it after parents can call to complain. They could have decided sending the notices on April Fools day isn't good and maybe hold them until Mon 4/4. Does anyone know if the central office staff get Spring Break off also? |
| Our ES also announced an informational meeting for Level IV selectees on Friday April 1st. |
Thanks for sharing! |
| Our ES just announced a meeting too…for April 20th. So I don’t think the date of the meeting says much about decisions. |
| Ok-so we still have no clue when these results will come out. |
It probably says a lot about the location of the school. Meeting on April 1st, probably a high SES school |
It wouldn't really make sense to have the meeting if parents didn't already know the results, though. It's a waste of time if parents go to the meeting and then later they find out their kid is not selected. |
If schools are truly doing informational meetings tomorrow, then we are finding out today. Semi shocked that any school would schedule this meeting for the first day of Spring break, but I guess teachers have to work tomorrow anyhow and this means don't have to ask people to work a night. Which schools are doing the meeting on Friday, April 1? |
This sounds like an April fools joke. |
If all FCPS parents find out the same day and some schools have a meeting for the parents of Level IV eligible kids on April 1st, then today's the day. After spring break could also be an option at the school's option, but a meeting on April 1st wouldn't make sense unless today is the notification day. Even then, they aren't giving parents much notice, so maybe the strategy is to hope they miss the meeting. |
Totally. Seems suss. |
+1 |
is That kind of makes sense, for those schools with a cruel sense of humor. Knowing how invested parents are in this, call a premature meeting, and then cancel when there are no eligible kids yet. Maybe just leave a sign on the front door: Meeting cancelled due to delay in AAP decisions. . Probably not a way to endear the school admin to the parents though! |
