+100 Everyone I know has had Omicron by now. All of us are triple vaxxed and mask when in stores, offices, etc. And all of us agree that masking is a joke at this point. Even Jeff has had it - I guess the PP must think he has a moral failing too. |
And again, you can thank the freedom fighters who do not mask up or get vaccinated. Lets all stop covering our mouths and noses when we sneeze too. Lets just bend over and blow our nose on the sidewalk as well. Stop washing your hands after you go to the bathroom. Stop using the paper shield in public restrooms, after all that is just a mask for your a$$. I mean, when did we get so stupid and stubborn? We have covered our faces when we sneeze and cough, we blow our noses into tissues, we washed our hands regularly all without controversy because it is a mitigating factor not because it stops all spread of disease. Why do you do all of those other things but this is somehow a bridge to far in a once in a century global pandemic? I've worked in the public the entire time, I've masked up, vaxxed up and haven't had so much as a cold in two years. |
What is amazing about this thread is the number of people arguing against masks who freely admit that they as well as their friends and family have all had Covid.
|
And yet, there’s nothing people like you can do to force me to wear a mask in a grocery store in Virginia, since there’s no mask mandate. Sorry, your preferences don’t carry any power. |
Because many of us got covid, it wasn’t a big deal, and we’re moving on with our lives. The fear is gone. I’m vaccinated and boosted, and had covid less than 60 days ago. I’m done, and don’t see any point in continued masking to do what, exactly? Protect people who can’t be bothered to vaccinate themselves? People at risk for serious illness have had a year to get vaccinated. I’m done worrying about people who aren’t worried about themselves. |
Nobody claimed otherwise. I no longer see a need to cover my mouth when I sneeze anymore either. You can’t make me and I’ve already got whatever I’ve got so who cares what you think. |
I don’t care if you cover your mouth when you sneeze or not. Knock yourself out. I don’t spend much timing worrying about the actions of others. Give it a try, and you’ll find less stress in your life. |
Many who also got Covid were unable to move in with their lives and many still are still dying from Covid. Your attitude has been called out as selfish and this exemplifies that point. There are people who likely caught and died from Covid thanks to this attitude and unwillingness to wear masks or get vaccinated. |
Is that why you are on these boards then? Because you don’t care what others think? |
+1 They just don’t care. |
I remember you guys saying that “you aren’t against masking, just mandates” but yet when there are no mandates then you still won’t wear a mask since it isn’t mandated. The only consistent POV that you guys are pushing is not to do anything about covid since you have decided that you are personally ok with the risk. You are completely transparent. |
I’m an earlier PP and the above post is not mine. There’s more than one person with this opinion, just FYI. |
Shrug. Mask mandates are starting to fall like dominoes all over the country. I live in Virginia, and can’t remember the last time I put on a mask. You can call me whatever you want, I don’t care. If you expect people to keep wearing masks to make you less anxious, that’s a you problem. It has nothing to do with me. People are going back to normal. You’ll need to learn to accept that. |
You have reading comprehension issues. I’m not opposed to masks- if you want to wear one, I certainly don’t want to stop you. I’m opposed to mask mandates, not people having the right to choose to wear one. You do realize there’s a middle position between something being banned and mandated, right? |
You’re right. I don’t care about the health decisions others make for themselves. I think you folks who moralize this whole thing are crazy. Every one of you has spread bacteria and viruses your entire lives. You have no way of knowing if your germs led to someone’s death or suffering. But it’s obviously not practical to sustain this kind of hyper vigilance forever. So people assess risk and make their own choices as they need to. Just because you over-perceive risk doesn’t make everyone else morally lacking. |
