Everything else is noise...mask quality, ventilation, social distancing, etc etc. It mattered early on, but not anymore. Cases don't matter, except as they might 'overwhelm' hospitals...though we cannot live under that threat forever.

Every credible expert outside of the administration is calling for rapid reduction of restrictions, starting with masks. I truly hope Biden's experts get control of the narrative - the economy is booming and the vaccines work, but no one feels better because we are still being told to hunker down. I completely agree with you. I’m fully vaxxed, got Covid anyway, and have recovered. The ONLY reason I continue to wear a mask in stores is quite honestly to keep the crazy LWNJs from confronting me. I have no interest in dealing with the unhinged. If it wasn’t for these nutters, I’d have no problem unmasking. The majority of elderly people I see out and about are unmasked - and I’m a healthy person who is far younger than they are. Mask theater has been unmasked for what it is.

OMG, sounds like this author needs to learn to "read the room," it doesn't matter what the science says or the statistics say, what is important is that they comply.

The science says that masks reduce transmission of Covid. That's the science. The terms "science" and "data" are being co-opted by the anti-vax MAGA crew, and enough already. If you want the science then wear a damn mask and get your vaccine.

I am vaxxed, boosted, and have had Covid along with my family and most of my friends and coworkers.

I have worked in person throughout this pandemic, as has my spouse, while our school aged kids were in daycare. Not every job can be done from your basement while you wait for Amazon Fresh to bring your kombucha.

I am done with masks and I am done with karens trying to tell me how to live my life.

If you want to walk around wearing a properly fitting N95 respirator, fine, have fun with that.

DP-Good grief-you act like you’re the only parent in the world. I also have a kid that isn’t eligible to be vaccinated and it makes no difference in our lives. I’m religious about yearly flu shots, but really, a virus that statistically presents virtually no danger to them? The burden of mitigating risk for grown adults who can make their own healthcare choices should not fall on children, full stop.

Seriously, both of my under 5 kids have recently had covid and literally all they did was sneeze a little bit more. No fever, no lack of energy, no coughing, nothing. We were lucky, but it’s not unusual. But they’ve been out of daycare for 2+ weeks at this point. People need to get over it and with testing negative taking 10 days on pcr it is some BS.

The isolation time has been significantly reduced, you might want to read up on that. That said, even though it does not seem to affect kids as bad (although there are preliminary studies that show a unusual rise in Diabetes with kids who've had Covid) how it affects other people and at the very least losing two weeks is still a PIA, So to prevent someone that you don't know from missing work for one to two weeks perhaps just wear a mask.

Exactly. He is practicing what he preaches. Unlike, say, so many Democrats who insist on masks for others but are too special to follow their own rules. Newsome, Pelosi, Gillibrand, Abrams all come to mind. Youngkin is so refreshing.
