Crime on the hill - Charles Allen has got to go

Anonymous
Does anyone know someone interested in challenging Allen? Denise Krepp would have been perfect but her house is getting put in ward 7. I will donate the max amount possible and help canvass for any challenger who thinks we need to get crime under control.

I am not involved enough in city politics to know of any viable candidates.

But again if someone who is interested in running is reading this, know we are out here. We will campaign for you against Charles Allen. We will donate.

We are tired of a councilmember who blames arson on the Department of Public Works instead of an arsonists, who blames carjackings on cold nights instead of criminals, who is comfortable with a violent criminal walking free soon after shooting a little girl and leaving her paralyzed for life.

We deserve better than Charles Allen. Kids like My'onna Hinton deserve better than Charles Allen.

Here is some on how to file and deadlines for filing.

Well maybe your part of Ward 6 will be redistributed into ward 7 or 8 and Allen won’t be your problem anymore.

He is a problem for everyone in the city as long as he keeps pushing for initiatives like the Youth Rehabilitation Act and he keeps making it difficult to tackle crime effectively and efficiently.

Imagine if Charles Allen cared as much about Black victims of gun violence as much as he did about white cyclists.

So true. When has he even commented recently on any shootings?

I would totally have run against him in this election if I hadn’t just gotten redistricted to Ward 7!

Bam. Got ‘em.

A man came up behind a man and his baby today just south of Eastern Market and hit them with A BRICK. This is not normal and yet no DC politician is outraged or is proposing any reasonable solutions to any of this crime.

This. I'm in Ward 1, where we have our own nonsensical progressive councilmember, but I would donate money to Allen's opponent because Allen's advocacy for criminals over law-abiding citizens is dangerous for my family, too.

There is a very good ANC Commissioner in Hill East named Denise Krepp. She broke the story about bricks being thrown at an infant this morning on the Hill. Maybe she would consider running against Allen or knows someone else who would be interested?

His constituency is the woke advocacy groups. He dutifully and submissively implements their agenda, and they promise to be less mean to him. They won’t, but he is ever so hopeful.

You know no one takes you seriously when you describe anything as woke, right?

“Woke” is a description used by those who profess to be “woke.” It’s turned into a negative however, as “woke” is a whistle for liberal views. Sad.

A woman who replied to that said that a daycare nearby had been advised by police not to take the children outside anymore. This is apparently after they had some trouble with an aggressive man (presumably a different man than the brick-throwing guy). Does anyone know anything about this? We go to the playground at eastern market frequently and I’m really unnerved by a second bizarre attack involving children.

I like to think I’m not easily rattled but the story about the infant (and some recent experiences a bit south of eastern market) really disturbed me. I feel so for that family and hope they’re okay.
