+10000

PLEASE DO NOT

I think the fact that this is a thread about the trial of a pedophile IS the trigger warning.

It didn’t start that way since the thread started with him in federal custody without knowing what the charges and eventual trial were going to be about. But at this point everyone knows what he’s on trial for and should be well aware of what they’re clicking on. That being said, what good comes from posting the specific details??

Can Jeff lock this thread and start another with a trigger warning in the title?

DP, I don't understand why people would click on this thread if they're easily triggered by this kind of stuff. We all know about Josh Duggar's history, and the charges. They're sickening obviously, but a "trigger warning" isn't necessary. Take some personal accountability and stop reading.

+1 If they have successfully avoided the news that Duggar is a pedophile they probably aren't clicking on random stories

I’m still trying to figure out why Josh opted to go to trial. It was a mistake, and he’s going to have decades in prison to think it over.

I'm sure they prayed and prayed on it, and God answered by telling them he wants Josh to be in jail for the maximum amount of time.

If jurors come from a local pool, the duggars may be counting on the local power of the family name + distrust of the government/conspiracy theories "good Christian man that the evil government seeks to destroy."

They’re trying to set it up that someone hacked the computer remotely to set Josh up. It’s not a bad defense strategy and could well set up reasonable doubt for some…. The investigators failed to take all the equipment and can’t rule remote access out this far

The more I read/hear about this sick pedophile > the more ill I feel.

He’s gross.

Yeah I'm sure the remote hacker who had the password to his work computer, bank account and family Instagram account just used it to download child porn to a secret partition on his work computer and nothing else.

I’m not computer savvy so I don’t understand what I’m about to repeat, but I heard they refuted any possibility of remoting in and were able to prove the downloads were done at a time they have photos of Josh at the computer while they were surveilling him.

PP again. And by “they” I heard it was the head of the division at DOJ that investigates these crimes. They had him on as a witness. So they nailed him pretty good I think?

Oh that's brilliant. That's just LOVELY. His Defense attorneys have nothing - they can't counterdict an FBI surveillance team watching him access the computer with the same password and download the porn. His butt is fried.

Well, he was the only one there, so it’s not like they can blame someone else at the car lot. The head of the division that handles this stuff showed the jury how the partition was set up, and how the remote access wasn’t possible. They’re trying to poke holes in the prosecutions evidence, and doing a terrible job, IMO. It isn’t believable.

The DD video was fragmented, and was not viewable, but after the evidence that came out yesterday, the reporting is going to stop saying “kids as young as 7,” as that is not accurate. If you want to hear why, feel free to watch yesterday’s coverage of what happened in court. He tried to blame two close friends, who weren’t at the dealership when it was downloaded. Also, the feds found Josh’s name and address in the partitioned side of the computer.

I’m fairly confident he will be spending decades in federal prison. His enabling family members can rot in hell. It’s obvious they don’t care about girls.

NP. This hack is NOT a journalist!! Breaking the link in the quote, to not inadvertently drive more clicks to her "reporting".

Pardon me. I’ve been following several people who are reporting on what’s happening in the courtroom. I mixed her up with Anna Darling, who is an actual journalist.

The YouTube person is a blogger, who’s been reporting courtroom facts on YouTube videos, along with info from sources close to the family. You can take it or leave it.

Emily D Baker has been going over the court documents.

You’re trusting that the jury isn’t going to wonder if the defenses narrative could be possible (the witness did say it’s possible but unlikely). I’m not so sure….

But the burden is not on him to prove it wasn't his computer. The burden is on the prosecution to prove Josh Duggar was knowingly in possession of this material.

The nail in the coffin for this theory is the photos on Josh's phone that line up perfectly with the times the CP was being downloaded. The photos are of post-it notes ON that desk where the computer was located that was downloading the CP.

It seems like when the prosecution gets to redirect after cross, they are reiterating that point.

Pretty easy burden to prove when the FBI surveillance team is on his @ss.

Reminds me of that idiot Annapolis couple that tried to sell American intelligence secrets, not only were they ratted out by a foreign country, but the FBI was watching their every move for months too.

Makes sense to me that they wanted to make sure they had irrefutable evidence before charging a "celebrity." Good job guys!
