How do these tournaments work? Are you invited at the last minute based on record / play-in? Or is it known ahead of time?

Playoffs are earned over the last year in conference play. They added a National Cup this year for the next 10 teams after the playoff teams. Everyone else goes to the show case. The showcase is ranked. So if you are in Showcase, but in Pool A of Showcase then you are in the Top 4 of the teams that didn't make Playoffs or National Cup. Pool B is next and so on.

Everyone in GA goes to showcase. Kind of watered down. Playoffs are earned (Top 3 I think).

Playoffs are earned off two ways ... conference allotment (better conferences get more teams) and then 5 wildcards.

Same as ECNL
