Every single wekeend the racing you can hear in MD is absolutely out of control. Idiot wannabe Fast and the Furious clowns in their POS modified cars are ruining the quality of life for so many people around them. The local police are useless, because they'll refuse to go after them. The hoodlums also know they can race all over roads and cross county lines between MoCo/PG or go into DC and police will have trouble following them.
It has been so bad recently that you can hear their ridiculously stupid cars for miles approaching midnight on Sundays. They are so loud people on social media think there are jets flying over DC every weekend night because they think there are sonic booms from jet engines when it is just idiots in their cheap junk rice burners with modified exhausts. PG and MoCo govts are worthless. The state of MD needs to being the hammer or change laws so these miscreants cannot evade by crossing county lines. They should also make it way easier to impound and crush cars that do this crap. There was a recent video of this human garbage doing a takeover in Chevy Chase and the cops being worthless. They're now so brazen that they even hold up signs for their tiktok channels at their takeovers in Chevy Chase because they know law enforcement won't do anything. How long do we have to tolerate this disgusting antisocial behavior until they kill people? They're racing all over local roads going 110 mph. |
How do you know it's 110mph? |
|
Mhhmmm. Yet on the real estate forum people frequently talk about how they would *never* live in Virginia because it's too (fill in the blank with your favorite derogatory stereotype).
Seems at least the police here are not into letting people drive 110 mph. |
Ooh let me answer this! Because when I was at court for my own parking tickets one of those guys was in court for speeding. He shows up in a racing jacket. No lie. The judge reads his speeding ticket charge for going about 110mph and amount due and he shrugs at the judge. (A lot of those guys are wealthy coder types and a $200 ticket is nothing.) Well the judge tacked on a reckless and some other charges. Threw the book. Hit him with it. Told him to see the clerk about paying 10x that original ticket. But that’s how I know. |
| It is a non-issue. |
| For what it's worth, I just about got run off the road in southern Fairfax County while out on an errand. It's bad everywhere. |
What? Just because you don't know about it, it doesn't mean it's not happening in NOVA: https://www.reddit.com/r/nova/comments/1ohs1bb/street_racers/ https://www.reddit.com/r/nova/comments/nn90s6/street_racing_idiots_at_rt_28_and_50_interchange/ https://www.reddit.com/r/nova/comments/qulrkg/fairfax_co_police_investigate_latenight_saturday/ https://www.reddit.com/r/nova/comments/1nts6s4/multiple_accidents_on_beltway_following_auto/ |
LOL. It's all over Fairfax County. Every weekend without fail. |
Street racing in Reston is different than taking over the intersection of Connecticut Avenue and East West Highway near country clubs and one of the richest neighborhoods in Montgomery County to do donuts at high speeds while cops watch helplessly. You know that too. This is the equivalent of some thugs taking over Washington Street and Route 7 in Falls Church City and doing donuts at 110 mph while the Falls Church cops sat there and did nothing, which has never happened and will never happen because VA is not a failed state. |
You cannot simultaneously drive 110 mph and do donuts. Pick one. If you're going to use hyperbole to make a point, at least don't be dumb about it. |
Read those threads in more detail (don't just look at the titles). It's not just Reston. It's every part of Fairfax County. The thugs don't care if the area is rich or poor; they just care if the road is suitable for their activities. |
Rich areas also: "They also love going down Gallows Road in Tysons at all hours." "tysons and mosaic are absolute shitshows" |
| Welcome to 5 years ago from other cities. |
https://www.reddit.com/r/nova/comments/1rbgeww/street_takeover_in_mclean_near_cia_hqs/ “Street takeover” crews shut down the intersection of Georgetown Pike and Dolley Madison Boulevard in McLean, Virginia (just south of the CIA Headquarters) this morning Fairfax County Police and Virginia State Police were called out to the major intersection at around 1:30am for the report of street racers having shut down the intersection to do burnouts and donuts. |
LOL, why is Virginia such a failed state??!! Total hellhole. |
